FOOTBALL: Former Socceroo Brett Holman (pictured) is not giving up on the A-League finals just yet despite Brisbane Roar’s winless start to the season.

Holman, who scored the late equaliser in the Roar’s 1-1 draw with Melbourne Victory last week, said he was confident things would turn around for the bottom team and a win over Melbourne City on Friday would be the catalyst for a better run.

Asked if it was time to reassess tactics after six games without a victory, the attacking midfielder said: “Not at the moment, just because we believe in what the coaches are doing.

“If you see what we’re doing at training ... it works. It’s just obviously putting that out there on the weekend.”

The Roar should regain Jade North (virus) and Fahid Ben Khalfallah (groin), but Danish midfielder Thomas Kristensen (hamstring) is at least another week away while new signing Ivan Franjic won’t be risked.
