Roadworks to affect traffic
ESSENTIAL maintenance work on the Lismore-Bangalow Road overtaking lanes near Bexhill will begin on Monday.
Work to increase the friction of the road surface will be carried out from 7am-5pm and take four days to complete, weather permitting.
Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
A review of the temporary 60km/h speed limit will be carried out on completion of the work with the aim of increasing it to 80km/h.
At Urbenville, construction of a multi-cell concrete box culvert will start at Five Mile Creek on Beaury Creek Rd.
Works will be undertaken at the existing bridge site with a side track detour in place for the duration of the construction works. All vehicles, including semi-trailers, will be able to use the side track.
Works will be carried out by Tenterfield Shire Council and sub-contractors, with the new bridge expected to be completed by October 30, weather permitting.
