Is­raeli po­lice ‘to ques­tion Packer’

IS­RAELI po­lice will re­port­edly ques­tion

James Packer (pic­tured) soon as part of an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into al­le­ga­tions Prime Min­is­ter Ben­jamin Ne­tanyahu ac­cepted lav­ish gifts from the Aus­tralian bil­lion­aire. Me­dia al­lege Mr Packer and movie mogul Arnon Milchan gave Mr Ne­tanyahu and his fam­ily hun­dreds of thou­sands of dol­lars in gifts, in­clud­ing cham­pagne, cigars and ac­com­mo­da­tion. The Times of Is­rael re­ports po­lice are “look­ing into whether Ne­tanyahu tried to help Packer gain res­i­dency in Is­rael”. In­te­rior Min­is­ter Aryeh Deri told ABC’s 7.30 pro­gram in Jan­uary he had met with Mr Packer’s lawyer, who asked about ar­rang­ing Is­raeli cit­i­zen­ship or res­i­dency. Mr Packer will be one of the last to tes­tify. There is no sug­ges­tion of any wrong­do­ing by the Aus­tralian mogul.
