Mental health issues an ongoing concern
THE Jean Hailes Women’s Health Survey 2017, released on Sunday, has shown many Australian women are dealing with mental health issues, with 40% professionally diagnosed with depression and anxiety. The survey of more than 10,000 women across Australia found that: Women aged 18–35 years are the most anxious Nearly 50% said they worried ‘excessively’ about different things several days a week
Half of those surveyed have sleeping issues.
The survey results also revealed that many are struggling to get enough exercise. The main reasons for not exercising were being too tired and not having enough time. Sixty percent of women are not exercising for at least 2.5 hours a week.
Weight is also an issue with 41% saying they are slightly overweight and 21% quite overweight.
