The Glen can secure finals spot in big game

CRICKET: It’s the final round of the Frenchville Sports Club Capricorn Challenge tomorrow.

While the men from the BITS Cricket Club aim to finish the season on a high and build toward a successful 2018-19 campaign, The Glen has the chance to tune up for finals.

Third-placed The Glen take on Cap Coast Parkana (fourth) at Sun Valley from 10am while BITS are also at home to bottom-placed Rockhampton Brothers.

Frenchville has already secured a grand-final berth on February 25 while The Glen can shore up a finals spot against Gracemere next weekend with a win against Cap Coast tomorrow.

The Glen simply did not score enough runs last weekend against Frenchville but with the likes of captain David Heymer, his brother Michael, Jason Seng and young gun Harry Rideout, the Gladstone-based team should respond against an opponent still smarting from its two-run loss against BITS.

Cap Coast needed just four runs off the final over last week but Nathan Cobb and company ensured a BITS win.
