Union boss says fo­cus on events

THE Min­neapo­lis po­lice union boss has ques­tioned the ob­jec­tiv­ity of the pros­e­cu­tor who will de­cide if Of­fi­cer Mo­hamed Noor is charged over the shoot­ing death of Aus­tralian Jus­tine Da­mond. In a let­ter to the Min­neapo­lis Star Tri­bune, Bob Kroll said county at­tor­ney Mike Free­man’s com­ments he was “sad­dened by the death of this fine young woman” and “it shouldn’t have hap­pened” showed he was fo­cused “on the sta­tus of the per­son” rather than events be­fore “a tragic loss”. He said Noor (pic­tured) shouldn’t be charged on the ba­sis Ms Da­mond was a “fine young woman in a nice neigh­bour­hood”.
