Close up on nature

The Queensland Times - - LIFE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS -

IT TAKES just minutes to play, but the fascination of finding hidden objects on a hike is fun and a great way to take a closer look at nature.

One hiker takes a camera or smartphone and walks ahead on the track and takes a super close-up photo of part of an object, eg a mushroom or a knot in a tree. Don’t take a picture of the entire object, it will be too easy to find.

When the rest of the group catches up, the photographer shows them the picture, defines a small 10m by 10m area – and then it’s a race to see who can find the object first!
