Another campus goes smoke free
UQ Gatton campus will go “smoke-free” from July 1. It’s among a growing list of universities that has made the move following a Parliamentary Committee Inquiry last year. UQ spokesperson Esther Haskell said the decision was made in July 2017. Students and staff were offered support to quit. “The decision to become smoke-free further supports and promotes the health and wellbeing of the entire UQ community,” Ms Haskell said. Students who wish to smoke will have to do so outside of the boundary of each campus. The policy covers all campuses, research sites, UQ-leased premises, carparks and ovals.
