JAN Molluso is an artist who, if not at work as a chef at an Echuca business, is working with art and creating amazing things.

Jan, pictured, has spent most of her 40 or so years living locally in the Echuca region, but has also spent time in other areas of Australia.

One particular location that Jan remembers fondly was on an island in North Queensland.

Jan received second place for a hand felted wall hanging in the Bendigo Wool Show a few years ago. Looking back on her decision to pursue art, Jan describes herself as having always been a creative person.

This shows clearly in the fact that she works with a wide range of art mediums, such as art journaling, mixed media and textiles.

Jan’s work with art journaling is created for personal use.

She is passionate about making art without needing a specific purpose.

Art journaling is a daily collection of small artworks, often kept daily, containing different techniques of art such as words, sketches and occasional media art.

It also contains elements of collage.

Jan’s artistic presence in the the community of Echuca/ Moama is quite strong.

Her local art group, Tuesday Junction, meets regularly.

They have exhibitions that display the work of each artist, some of which are for sale.

Jan runs regular pop-up art classes in her studio under the name Crafty Mr Fox.

These classes focus on a range of different art styles.

Some of the most recent classes have taught students the art of journalling, print making, crochet, freeform weaving and wool felting art.

More information on the Crafty Mr Fox pop-up classes can be found on the group’s Facebook page.
