Lizzie keeps abreast of Bunnaloo

- — Natalie Durrant

THE queen is coming to Womboota. Well, at least her look-alike. The Bunnaloo Breast Brunch committee is using Queen Elizabeth’s recent 90th birthday as a theme for this year’s Girls’ Night Out at Womboota Hall.

The biennial event is fast approaching and committee member Sue Mulcahy is urging everyone to dust off their tiaras and pull out their pearls for a royally good time.

After all, every good country hall has a portrait of the Queen hanging on their walls.

“Just organise a group of girls and we’ll do the rest,” Sue said.

The rest includes home-made finger food all night, a drink on arrival, a flashing glass and transport to and from the venue thanks to the hard-working husbands of the committee members.

The night will also include karaoke and $5 cocktails and sparkling wine, with all money raised donated to Echuca Regional Health and the Pink Ribbon Foundation.

The 2014 event was a great success raising $9500, half of which went to the Echuca hospital’s oncology department to buy an oncology chair.

“We have retained the same format for this year’s event because the last one was so popular,” Sue said.

“While this year’s theme is a little tongue in cheek, complete with sash for the best-dressed queen, raising money for cancer research and cancer centres is a cause close to our hearts and we are so proud to be raising funds for such a good cause.”

Tickets cost $60. To book for the event, RSVP by October 7 to Andrea Vagg on 5489 7234 or Jenny James on 5489 3274.
