Accused stabber in jail

-

A MAN accused of stabbing a woman in Echuca earlier this year will spend Christmas behind bars.

Trent Harrison, 25, was arrested last month charged with intentionally causing serious injury.

Senior Constable Russell Locke of Campaspe Criminal Unit said Harrison allegedly stabbed the woman in the upper right leg on March 5.

‘‘Her artery was severed and she was airlifted to Melbourne where she underwent emergency surgery,’’ he said.

The woman spent two weeks undergoing rehabilitation.

An arrest warrant was issued for Harrison in September.

Snr Constable Locke said Harrison was found in a car in Morwell by a LaTrobe Valley highway patrol officer on November 7.

‘‘After violently resisting arrest, he was processed at Morwell police station and remanded in custody until February 9 for a committal mention at LaTrobe Valley Magistrates Court,’’ he said. Ph 5480 1808 | 190 Hare Street, Echuca
