MOAMA Football Club’s goalkicking machine Tyler Jones has shown he is committed to the Mowers cause by resigning with the Murray Football League club for the next two years.

The star forward said it was an easy decision in the end given the direction the club was headed.

‘‘It’s got some good kids coming through and a good mix of older blokes staying around, so I’m happy with the decision,’’ Jones said.

He joined several other players also recommitted to the coming season, including Rhys Archard, Jade Pumpa, Ben Welch, Luke Dunham, Luke Eldridge, Jordan Ives and Jake Hare. The recommitment from these players was a huge bonus for the club with potential players being assured and feeling confident of coming in to a competitive side. Moama also has some quality young players learning their trade in a strong reserves side, which will see some of them pushing for senior selection in 2018.

President David Grubb said the club was incredibly pleased to have Jones and the other remaining players with them for 2018 and beyond.

‘‘TJ (Jones) and his family fit in well at the club,’’ he said. ‘‘We’ve all admired his comeback and I have a lot of respect for him as a player.

‘‘He has really matured as both a young man and a leader amongst the group and put in a lot of hard work in his rehabilitation and the proof is in the way he’s performed since.
