THIEVES have ram-raided Echuca Vil­lage Fire Sta­tion in a stolen truck be­fore tak­ing off with thou­sands of dol­lars worth of equip­ment.

De­tec­tive Se­nior Con­sta­ble Ber­nadette Wadding­ton of Cam­paspe Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion Unit said the bur­glary oc­curred at the Mitchell St build­ing be­tween 4am and 4.30am yes­ter­day.

‘‘They have re­versed into the front roller door to get in and stolen a va­ri­ety of prop­erty, in­clud­ing an En­gel fridge,’’ she said.

The stolen truck, con­tain­ing the stolen prop­erty, was later found in Bangerang Rd.

Late yes­ter­day, de­tec­tives were in­ter­view­ing a 31-year-old man, who was found with the truck, and 28-year-old woman, both from Shep­par­ton.

‘‘We are in­ves­ti­gat­ing links to other sim­i­lar bur­glar­ies around coun­try Vic­to­ria,’’ she said.
