SUZANNE Spencer (pictured) went from a head full of long, curly red locks to almost bald within a matter of minutes on Sunday. All in the name of charity.

The Lockington resident and Community Living and Services direct support professional had her head shaved by husband Dan Spencer at Earth Spirit Energies to raise money for Victorian-based not-forprofit organisation Dogs for Kids with Disabilities (DKD).

Over seven weeks of donations, as well as a raffle and auction, Suzanne raised more than $1800, which will go towards training assistance dogs for children with autism and other developmental disorders.

‘‘I am just delighted to be helping an organisation as important as DKD,’’ she said.

‘‘If more kids with disabilities have assistance or companion dogs, it will make their lives and the lives of their families easier.’’

Suzanne’s hair will not be wasted either — donated to the Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation to be turned into a wig.

‘‘I just want to thank everyone who supported me. I had a lot of fun doing this,’’ she said.
