Clock is ticking on picking your preferred project

The Riverine Herald - - IN MY OPINION -

WITH less than a week to go before voting for Pick My Project closes, locals are being encouraged to make their vote count.

Projects around the district that benefit the community have been shortlisted and are all up for voting until September 17. Echuca-Moama has 15 projects to choose from with residents able to shortlist their top three choices before the voting closes.

From seating in the township of Cohuna to a supervised space for separated parents to spend time with their children in Echuca, there’s a wide array of opportunities.

Through the Pick My Project Fund the state government allocated $30 million which has been divided between the six metropolitan and nine regional partnership areas.

Project ideas with the most votes in each area will be invited to enter into a funding agreement for their project, with between $20,000 and $200,000 available for each project idea.

If you’re struggling to vote or don’t have access to a computer, your local neighbourhood house or Campaspe Library can help.

Voting is open until 5 pm on September 17.
