Thieves ram-raid property
POLICE are investigating a burglary of a rural Echuca property where a home was ransacked and a gun safe containing a firearm stolen.
Detective Senior Constable Peter Colliver of Echuca Criminal Investigation Unit said thieves broke into the Anderson Rd property by ramming a car through the gate between last Wednesday and Sunday.
‘‘They’ve gone to the shed and ransacked that and stolen a generator from behind the shed,’’ he said.
‘‘Then they’ve forced entry to the house and trashed the place, ransacking all the rooms.
‘‘They also stole a gun safe containing a .22 calibre firearm.’’
The owners of the property were away at the time.
Det. Snr Constable Colliver said no arrests had been made but appealed for anyone with information into the burglary to come forward.
