Thieves ram-raid prop­erty

PO­LICE are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a bur­glary of a ru­ral Echuca prop­erty where a home was ran­sacked and a gun safe con­tain­ing a firearm stolen.

De­tec­tive Se­nior Con­sta­ble Peter Col­liver of Echuca Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion Unit said thieves broke into the An­der­son Rd prop­erty by ram­ming a car through the gate be­tween last Wed­nes­day and Sun­day.

‘‘They’ve gone to the shed and ran­sacked that and stolen a gen­er­a­tor from be­hind the shed,’’ he said.

‘‘Then they’ve forced en­try to the house and trashed the place, ran­sack­ing all the rooms.

‘‘They also stole a gun safe con­tain­ing a .22 cal­i­bre firearm.’’

The own­ers of the prop­erty were away at the time.

Det. Snr Con­sta­ble Col­liver said no ar­rests had been made but ap­pealed for any­one with in­for­ma­tion into the bur­glary to come for­ward.
