So many highlights

The Riverine Herald - - GAME ON SUMMER -

SATURDAY’S meeting of the Echuca Moama Little Athletics Club saw the usual.

A number of young athletes producing their best ever performances — with 121 personal bests set on Saturday.

But three of those weren’t just a personal victory.

They were the best ever seen at the club.

Marlon Micalizzi raised the bar in the under 8s high jump, moving the previous best of 1.10m to 1.11m.

And in the under 9s 60m category, the record was broken — twice.

Nate Smith’s 10.08 seconds was good enough to break the previous record of 10.30 seconds.

But it didn’t stand for long, with Xavier Carmichael’s 9.90 seconds breaking the mark later in the same meeting.

FLYING HIGH: Atley Bookham.

GOING LONG: Ashton Fowler.

UP AND OVER: Harry Lees.

WELL-EARNED BREAK: Athletes between events.

TAKING A SHOT: Emily Zlateff.

SHOW OF STRENGTH: Charlotte Wilson.
