The Riverine Herald - - GAME ON SUMMER -

CAMPASPE Shire Council has agreed to sell the Golden Cow tourist site in Tongala.

‘‘As it was surplus to council’s needs,’’ a council spokeswoman said.

‘‘The statutory process to sell the site is currently underway with submissions closing November 23.

‘‘If any submissions are received, council will hear them at a public submission hearing on November 27.’’

Council started the process to rezone parcels of land and sell off property at the Golden Cow site in 2015.

Located on the corner of Finlay and Henderson roads in Tongala, the site includes three separate land titles — Brose Reserve; land where the former Golden Cow centre and car park including a small paddock to the north; and the Golden Cow paddocks to the south on the opposite side of the road.

Council intends to sell the property to Advanced Reproduction Pty Ltd for $275,000 (GST inclusive).

The proposed sale will be subject to contractual terms satisfactory to council. Any submissions in relation to the proposed sale will be considered.

Following consideration of any submissions council may resolve either to proceed, or not to proceed, with the proposed sale.
