THE Gunbower Lions Park is set for a facelift thanks to a $320,000 grant from the Victorian Government.
This funding will deliver targeted improvements, complementing a planned upgrade to the park to include recreational water access to Gunbower Creek with a fishing jetty and canoe launching pad, and ecological wetland planting alongside the creek.
The project will also deliver an improved play space, barbecue facilities and footpath improvements for locals and people using Gunbower as a base for accessing the internationally renowned Gunbower Islands and surrounding wetlands.
The project will be delivered in partnership with Campaspe Shire Council, and Gunbower and District Development Group.
“This $320,000 funding for the Gunbower Lions Park in Gunbower will complement the planned upgrade to the park, creating better access for tourists and visitors to the Gunbower Creek and the renowned wetlands,” Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp said.
“Improving our local facilities is vital for our growing community, ensuring we have the right facilities for our community to enjoy.”
