SWITCHBACK (R5 No.9) had a public trial in Sydney in July but he caught the eye with a nice third in a Flemington jump out couple of Fridays ago, closing off strongly late. He’d only have to handle the conditions to go close and on pedigree he should. Hard beat.
MANDALAY BAY (R4 No.9) was hard in the market at his only start at Sandown back in April and went fairly but since then he’s been gelded and comes back to a maiden. Even effort in his trial and appears well placed here.
JOE’S PRIDE (R7 No.7) gave a very good sight when resuming at this track in heavy ground and will be fitter for that placing. Lightly raced and has generally not been too far away to date so if she can repeat that fresh effort then she’ll be in the mix again.
