Race 1: Caprese - slow to be­gin. Held up round­ing the home turn and did not ob­tain clear run­ning un­til near the 100m. Benchi Pe­ga­sus - jumped away awk­wardly, shifted in and ham­pered Buckler. Shillelagh (NZ) - slow to be­gin. Held up round­ing the home turn be­fore shift­ing out abruptly to gain clear run­ning in the early part of the straight and in do­ing so in­con­ve­nienced Cauthen (NZ) and Greipel which was fol­low­ing was also ham­pered. When rac­ing in re­stricted room over the con­clud­ing stages, had to be eased when tight­ened for room be­tween Saint Valorem and Man­hat­tan Blues which shifted out away from Chase The Hori­zon which shifted out and as a re­sult Shillelagh (NZ) went to the line not be­ing fully tested. Chase The Rain­bow - dipped ap­proach­ing the 1100m. Be­came un­bal­anced af­ter be­ing brushed by Man­hat­tan Blues ap­proach­ing the 100m. Cauthen (NZ) - dipped near the 1100m. In­con­ve­nienced in early part of the straight. Lost its near fore plate in run­ning. Luchador - on the point to the home turn had to be checked to avoid the heels of Greipel. Greipel - raced wide with­out cover. Ham­pered in the early part of the straight. Buckler - held up round­ing the home turn be­fore gain­ing clear run­ning near the 150m. Ventic - shifted out 300m and brushed Man­hat­tan Blues.

Race 2: In­side Agent (NZ) - jumped away awk­wardly and lost ground. Mr Tickler - slow to be­gin. When over-rac­ing had be checked off the heels of Rad­cliffe and in do­ing so shifted out

ham­pered Fast And Fu­ri­ous near the 700m Dis­so­lute - got its head up when over-rac­ing in the early and mid­dle stages. In­con­ve­nienced by Dalradian which when over-rac­ing near the 800m shifted out. Dalradian - raced wide with­out cover. Rad­cliffe - held up round­ing the home turn and clipped heels of Blue Ty­coon and blun­dered pass­ing the 100m as a re­sult this rider Michael Dee was un­able to ride out in his nor­mal man­ner. Fast And Fu­ri­ous - hung in­wards in the straight. A post race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed

colt to have a slow re­cov­ery. Decoco - a post race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed the filly to be lame in the near fore­leg and had a slow re­cov­ery. Mu­cus was also de­tected that may have af­fected the rac­ing per­for­mance and a ve­teri­nary clear­ance is re­quired prior to rac­ing again. Michael Walker (Blue Ty­coon) - pleaded guilty a charge of care­less rid­ing un­der the pro­vi­sions of AR137(a), care­less­ness be­ing that in­side 100m he per­mit­ted his mount to shift in when in­suf­fi­ciently clear of Rad­cliffe re­sult­ing in that horse con­tact­ing Blue Ty­coon’s heels and blun­der­ing. Michael Walker had his li­cence to ride in races sus­pended for a pe­riod to com­mence at mid­night Septem­ber 18th and to ex­pire at mid­night Septem­ber 29th, a to­tal of twelve race meet­ings (two metropoli­tan, ten pro­vin­cial). In as­sess­ing penalty Stew­ards took into ac­count his guilty plea and that the care­less­ness was in the mid-range.

Race 3: Fromparis Withlove - jumped away awk­wardly. Held up round­ing the home turn and for en­tirety of straight went to the line not be­ing tested. Why­ouask - slow to be­gin. Dy­nas­tic Lady jumped away awk­wardly, shifted in and made con­tact with Per­fectly Safe. Raced wide with­out cover. Sognani - had to be stead­ied near the 1100m avoid the heels of Najmaat (Damian Lane) which shifted in. Najmaat - rider Damian Lane was no­ti­fied to ex­er­cise more care for shift­ing in near the 1100m. Vainglorious - had to be stead­ied pass­ing the 1100m avoid the heels of Out­back Rain which shifted in. Shifted out near the 700m and in­con­ve­nienced With A Bit Of Dash. Held up round­ing the home turn and was un­able to ob­tain a clear run un­til pass­ing 100m. Serenely Dis­creet - shifted out to ob­tain a run on straight­en­ing and made con­tact with Vainglorious re­sult­ing in both horses be­com­ing un­bal­anced. Held up round­ing the home turn and for en­tirety of the straight went to line not be­ing tested. Peek­ing Duck - held up round­ing the home turn be­fore gain­ing clear run­ning near the 300m. Dis­ap­pointed for a run be­tween Per­fectly Safe and Najmaat near the 100m went to the line not be­ing fully tested. With A Bit Of Dash - lost its near fore plate in run­ning. Clock­work Or­ange - rider Regan Bayliss re­ported his mount raced keenly in the early stages how­ever he was still dis­ap­pointed in its per­for­mance as it failed to re­spond to his rid­ing in the straight. A post race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties other than a slower than nor­mal re­cov­ery. Race 4: Miss Softhands - con­nec­tions ad­vised would be rid­den more for­ward; set­tled in a for­ward po­si­tion and over-raced. Rider Steven King could of­fer no ex­pla­na­tion for the per­for­mance. A post race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties. Amarela (NZ) - slow to be­gin. Moulin - slow to be­gin. Miss Gun­pow­der - over-raced in the early stages. Anaphora - raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in when weak­en­ing in the straight. Ma­jes­tic Lass - raced un­gen­er­ously in the early and

mid­dle stages. Held up round­ing the home turn and in the early part of the straight. An­telu­can - over-raced in the mid­dle stages. Raced wide with­out cover. Rider Michael Dee stated he had no luck in the early stages and af­ter be­ing caught wide the mare over-raced and there­fore failed to fin­ish the race off as ex­pected. A post ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties. Tears Of Joy - raced wide with­out cover. Rider Stephen Baster stated that af­ter be­gin­ning only fairly from the wide gate, he was re­luc­tant to nig­gle his mount along, es­pe­cially as its first up to­day over 1400m and as a re­sult set­tled fur­ther back than was its nor­mal pat­tern. Stephen Baster stated his mount dipped near the 50m.

Race 5: Kach­ing - jumped away awk­wardly, shifted in and made con­tact with Awake In Grinzing (NZ). When lay­ing in shifted in and brushed Benny Go Berzerk on straight­en­ing. Rider Nick Hall was ques­tioned re­gard­ing the tac­tics adopted on the colt to­day and he ex­plained that from wide bar­rier was in­structed to be in the sec­ond half of the field and as a re­sult he was neg­a­tive out of bar­ri­ers. He stated he had two op­tions in the early stages, ei­ther to drop back to last and gain cover off of Awake In Grinzing (NZ) or al­ter­na­tively be caught three wide with­out cover when the race was be­ing run at a good tempo. He added he was sat­is­fied of his po­si­tion­ing, given the way the race was run, and it was only con­di­tion that re­sulted in the colt fail­ing to fin­ish the race off over the con­clud­ing stages. Trainer Mr Ciaron Ma­her con­firmed the in­struc­tions and said he felt that had the colt been rid­den any closer, it would have peaked on its run sooner than it did on this oc­ca­sion. Land Of Plenty - jumped away awk­wardly and made con­tact with the side of the gate. Cap­tain Duffy - over­raced in the early and mid­dle stages. Odeon (NZ) - raced wide with­out cover. Rock­e­teer - held up round­ing the home turn and in the early part of the straight. Awake In Grinzing (NZ) - hung in­wards in the straight. Rider Ben Thomp­son stated his mount may not have ap­pre­ci­ated the quick back up. A post race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties. Lord Ma­cau - rider Dwayne Dunn re­ported that the geld­ing would be bet­ter suited over fur­ther dis­tance and on a firmer track. A post race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties. The track was up­graded from Soft 6 Soft 5 at 2.23pm af­ter the run­ning of this race. Race 6: Andrassy - slow to be­gin. Se­cret Agenda be­gan awk­wardly. Ex­clu­sive Lass - raced wide with­out cover. Rider Michael Walker ac­ci­den­tally dropped his near side rein in the early part of the straight. My Poppette - laid in­wards straight. Rider Mark Zahra was re­minded of his obli­ga­tion to ride his mounts out hands and heels to the fin­ish­ing line.

Race 7: Well Sprung - slow to be­gin. The Vir­ginian to

Per­formed be­low mar­ket ex­pec­ta­tions; rider Damien Oliver re­ported although be­ing slow to be­gin, the geld­ing was in his opin­ion dis­ap­point­ing to­day. A post race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties and a swab sam­ple was taken for anal­y­sis. Hucklebuck - over­raced in the early and mid­dle stages. Charlie Boy - raced wide with­out cover. Rider Mark Zahra re­ported that de­spite rac­ing with some cover, his mount was

dis­ap­point­ing and failed to re­spond to his rid­ing. A post race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties. Keen Ar­ray - Got its head up when be­ing re­strained in the early stages, raced wide with­out cover. Santa Ana Lane - held up round­ing the home turn be­fore gain­ing clear run­ning near the 200m. Race 8: Ex­cess Knowl­edge (GB) - con­nec­tions ad­vised would be rid­den more con­ser­va­tively; raced in a mid-field po­si­tion. Ber­isha - be­gan awk­wardly and lost ground. Zanteca (NZ) - be­gan awk­wardly. Gabella (FR) af­ter be­ing caught wide in the early stages was al­lowed to stride and take up a po­si­tion close to the rail near the 1300m. Tom Mel­bourne (IRE) - rider Glen Boss was of view geld­ing would ben­e­fit from its sec­ond run af­ter a spell. A post race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties.

Race 9: Po­lar Vor­tex - jumped awk­wardly, shifted out and bumped Calvin Wil­liams (FR). The Jus­tice League (NZ) - jumped away awk­wardly. Del Prado - slow to be­gin. Le Bon­sir - raced keenly in the early stages. Loy­alty Man - got its head up when over-rac­ing in the early stages. Mighty Like - over-raced wide with­out cover Se­bring Sun - raced

cover. Iggimacool - rider Ben Thomp­son re­ported his mount trav­elled well how­ever he could of­fer no ex­pla­na­tion for the per­for­mance. A post race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties. Tu­dor - rider Jake Bayliss re­ported his mount was un­der pres­sure round­ing the home turn, would be bet­ter suited on a firmer track and high­lighted the horse does not seem to per­form well at Caulfield. A post race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion

failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties.

Race 10: Count Of Li­monad (IRE) - jumped away awk­wardly. Elec­tric Fu­sion - be­gan awk­wardly. Wheat­sheaf Flyer - over­raced in the early stages. Rider Jye McNeil stated the geld­ing over-raced con­sid­er­ably in the early and mid­dle stages and as a re­sult failed to fin­ish off as ex­pected. A post race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties. Profit Share - got its head up when over-rac­ing in the early and mid­dle stages. Raced wide with­out cover. Lord Du­rante - had to be stead­ied to avoid the heels of Magic Consol which shifted in near the 200m. Fresh­wa­ter Storm ( NZ) - mo­men­tar­ily held up for a short dis­tance near the 200m. Re­ful­gent - sec­ond placeget­ter; rider Damian Lane was fined $300 un­der the pro­vi­sions of AR137(b) for fail­ing to ride his mount out to the win­ning post. Damian Lane was se­verely rep­ri­manded for us­ing his whip seven times prior to the 100m and in as­sess­ing the mat­ter Stew­ards took into ac­count his good record. Foundry (IRE) - rider Steven Arnold was se­verely rep­ri­manded for us­ing his whip eight times prior to the 100m and in as­sess­ing mat­ter Stew­ards took into ac­count his good record. Magic Consol - rider Holly McKech­nie was fined $200 for us­ing her whip seven times prior to the 100m and in as­sess­ing mat­ter Stew­ards took into ac­count her record. Tarquin - rider Ben Mel­ham re­ported his mount, that was sec­ond up to­day, was not suited by the strong temp and would be im­proved by the run. A post race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties and a swab sam­ple was taken for anal­y­sis.
