Race 1: 3 BOOROOJ 7/06/2017 Canterbury Park Shortly after the start was briefly tightened. Held up making the home turn. 6 MANICURE 31/05/2017 Warwick Farm Bumped with another rnr on jumping. Near 200m was severely checked after being disappointed for a run to inside of another. Rdr std rounding h/t another rnr commenced to hang out & as he felt that filly, which was under pressure would cont to shift wider he elected to attempt to imp to its inside along rail & when that rnr shifted back in his mount was severely checked. Added after mount lost considerable ground in incident, he did not ride it out thereafter. A post race vet exam rev no abs.
Race 2: 4 CATESBY 14/06/2017 Canterbury Park L/Scr 12.53pm on vet advice when was struck its head in barriers. Trainer was advised a vet clearance would be required prior to racing again. Vet clearance received. 12 WE COULD BE HEROES 7/06/2017 Canterbury Park Began awkwardly and shortly after the start was crowded.
Race 3: 1 SOLEADO (NZ) 2/06/2017 Wagga Missed the start (4L). Trainer was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings record for being slow to begin. Raced in restricted room from the 400m to the 250m. Held up over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. 2 LEUCURA 7/06/2017 Canterbury Park Raced keenly in the early stages & passing the 1300m, was steadied when awkwardly positioned close to heels. Continued to race keenly for some distance thereafter and approaching the 1100m, was checked away from heels.
Race 4: 1 SAN PABLO 24/05/2017 Canterbury Park Near 200m shifted in and brushed another runner. 2 VAUCLUSE BAY 10/06/2017 Royal Randwick Rider stated that the gelding travelled comfortably in behind the leaders in a slowly run event. Added when the tempo increased near 600m his mount could not pick up on the heavy track conditions & this was the only excuse he could offer for today’s disappointing run. A post race vet exam did not reveal any abs. 3 PROMETHEUS 10/06/2017 Royal Randwick A post race vet exam revealed the gelding lost its near-hind plate in running. 6 WORD GAMES 7/06/2017 Canterbury Park Stewards approved an application to remove Blinkers to the last start winner on the basis that trainer was of opinion filly had worked better without the gear and is stepping up in distance at its next start. 7 HIGHLEIGH 1/06/2017 Gosford COT - To be ridden further forward with option to lead; settled midfield. Shortly after the 1300m had to be steadied. 8 EARTH 14/06/2017 Canterbury Park Stood flat footed at the start and lost ground (2L). Near the 1000m, shifted in and brushed the running rail. 10 DOMED 5/06/2017 Goulburn Held up until passing the 300m and had to be angled out near the 200m cont into clear running. 11 DELACROIX 11/06/2017 Hawkesbury COT - To be ridden further forward; settled off pace. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
Race 5: 2 EL NOVIO 10/06/2017 Royal Randwick Slow to begin. Rdr std, mount missed start slightly which resulted in gelding settling a little further back than intended & in addition resulting in him having to travel along rail. Added in his view, geld being forced
race on inferior going was only explanation he could offer for today’s perf. A post race vet exam did not rev any abs. Stable rep undertook to report back. Rep since reported was satisfied with post-race cond of geld & stables intentions are to cont its prep. 4 THE GETAWAY 4/06/2017 Dubbo Slow to begin; steadied over the final stages 5 PROMAS 7/06/2017 Canterbury Park Slow to begin. 6 ALFDEN 9/06/2017 Canberra Acton When quest rdr std instr have mount racing where comfort and after obt pos in early stgs back in field, at 1500m when speed slowed mount pulled hard and allowed to stride fwd in mid stgs. Added did not cont to cross to the lead closer to the rail as due prev racing history he believed to have done so would not have been in the gelds interests. Co trnr confirmed instr, expressed satisfaction with mid stgs insofar as his opinion that geld can lose focus by finding the front too soon. 7 I’M BULLETPROOF 7/06/2017 Canterbury Park Began awkwardly and then shortly after the start was crowded.
Race 6: 1 PICARDY ROSE 3/06/2017 Rosehill Gardens Near the 150m, when being ridden out, shifted out across the heels of another runner and had to be briefly steadied. 4 SHARPNESS 31/05/2017 Warwick Farm Began awkwardly. 1st past post protested against 2nd - Dismissed. Shortly after straightening shifted out and made contact with another runner on two occasions. Near 200m was taken out onto runner. 6 CAN DREAM 27/05/2017 Royal Randwick Laid in when placed under pressure over the final 250m. 10 FAST ARLI 27/05/2017 Royal Randwick Rdr std he was instructed to take up a forward position preferably with cover. Said was able obtain pos one off in the early stages, whereby his mount inclined to race keenly. Added when Rnr shifted to the fence his mount had continued to race keenly, would not settle and soon after leaving the 1000m Rnr shifted off, taking his mount three wide without cover.
Race 7: 4 CLEEVE HILL 7/06/2017 Canterbury Park After being slow to begin, was crowded shortly after the start. 5 COOLCRAFT 10/06/2017 Kembla Grange Began very awkwardly and, as a result lost ground (2L). 11 SURFIN’ SAFARI 24/05/2017 Canterbury Park Raced wide & without cover throughout. Despite being ridden along in early stages failed to muster speed & settled towards the rear of field. Hung out near 400m. Near 250m was checked and lost its running.
