EZR’s Coupe could be a Smart filly

THE Eller­ton/Zahra team ap­pears to have a very smart filly in the shape of Smart Coupe who made it suc­ces­sive dom­i­nant wins at Fri­day’s Flem­ing­ton jump outs.

The Smart Mis­sile young­ster, out of Group 2 win­ner Coupe, led most the way in the 800m heat, run in good time, and was even more im­pres­sive than her ef­fort a week ear­lier.

Heat 1 (49.03): CAPTIVATOR led three off the fence from CINQ DAMES (2f, Hayes/Dabernig) and BINT ZAHEEYA (2f, McEvoy) be­tween them. XEBEC set­tled with cover. Captivator went for home be­fore the turn but couldn’t sus­tain it and Cinq Dames and Bint Zaheeya, both also rid­den up, did best late and hit the line to­gether. Oth­ers: Ju­niper Girl, Sog­nani.

Heat 2 (49.98): SWISS KISS found the lead eas­ily from BELLA VELLA and NICOSMILE (3g, Hayes/Dabernig) with GRASSE

(2f, Bead­man) im­prov­ing around the lat­ter. Bella Vella started to get up­per hand in the straight and edged out Swiss Kiss, both trav­el­ling well, with four to Nicosmile with ANOTHER BULLSEYE. Other: Rex Bell. Heat 3 (48.45): BLACK DI­A­MOND GIRL showed her cus­tom­ary speed to clear LIT­TLE GYPSY (2f, Hayes/Dabernig). MAY D’ORO Eller­ton/Zahra) and I BOOGI were the next pair. They were never go­ing to get near Black Di­a­mond Girl and she cruised home two clear of I Boogi and Lit­tle Gypsy both go­ing okay too. Oth­ers: Black Wolf Run, Vain­glo­ri­ous.

Heat 4 (49.05): EASY FLYER and NISTAAN shared the early lead from SHOKORA (2f, Hayes/ Dabernig) in a bunched group. TARA ITI and MISS ATARAXIA (2f, O’Brien) were close up too. They fanned on the turn and Shokora hit the lead looked to hold Nistaan safely. Easy Flyer was a length or so fur­ther back. Other: Groovin’.

Heat 5 (48.93): SMART COUPE (2f, Eller­ton/Zahra) headed TANGO MAN (2g, Hayes/Dabernig) who held the in­side and AMEND­MENT was next in­side an im­prov­ing BOLOSSOMO. Smart Coupe had plenty in re­serve and dashed well clear of Tango Man and CON­FLU­ENCE ran on into third from the back. Other: Sous La Terre.

Heat 6 (50.72): TERCET (2f, Bead­man) landed in front of KARAKO­RAM (2g, Freed­man) wider out around DEAL MAS­TER and CHIEF MOONDANCE. Leader came off the fence on the turn Chief Moondance gained a saloon run but was rid­den along. He held on LEGALE was trav­el­ling much bet­ter mak­ing plenty of ground. Deal Mas­ter ran third. Other: Al­ward.

Heat 7 (49.95): ECOL­OGY was taken on by DUAN ZHIXING but very wide out and OCEAN DEEP (2f, Hayes/Dabernig) and GIROUX raced be­tween them. Ecol­ogy kicked away early in the straight and staved off Giroux and Duan Zhixing. Oth­ers: Bal­lis­tic Lass, Tahi.

Heat 8 (49.97): VALLIANO took it up early from EMAAN (2f, Hayes/Dabernig) while SORENATA and THIN GREEN LINE (2f, Moroney) fol­lowed. Valliano was let go kicked away be­fore eas­ing late to beat Emaan by two with a gap Thin Green Line. Oth­ers: Tsar­itsa (go­ing eas­ily), Ex­ilia Miss.

Heat 9 (50.75): CHAMPENOISE jumped in front from MEADOW SPRITE and TOR­NADO GAL (2f, Ka­vanagh). Fur­ther out was CRIM­SON AND CLOVER (2f, O’Brien). No pres­sure ap­plied to any run­ner and Champenoise won by about a length from Tor­nado Gal Crim­son And Clover mak­ing some ground. Oth­ers: Five Star Ruby, Crys­tal Spirit.

Heat 10 (49.14): BLACK MARY beat them out to lead PRETTY MAMA and VI­TAL IM­POR­TANCE. A gap SOUTH BEND (2c, Hayes/Dabernig). Black Mary was given a dig early in the straight and ex­tended to win by three from Vi­tal Im­por­tance join­ing Pretty Mama late. Oth­ers: Yes I Do, Bel Esprit/Rock My Page.

Heat 11 (49.86): DUN­PHY (3c, Cer­chi) found the front from

MERRIMEN with OCEAN PARK/ CHAR­LOTTES RE­VENGE (Eller­ton/ a clear third from RED­WOOD/HAYLIN (Eller­ton/ Zahra). Merrimen took over the turn and kicked well clearer of Dun­phy SAFETY DANCE (2c, Hayes/Dabernig) into third.
