RACE 1: (Run on Morphettville Track) ABOUT THE JOUR­NEY (NZ) (C. Dou­glas) – in­con­ve­nienced after jump­ing the third hur­dle when avoid­ing fallen horse and rider. BUDJIROO (A. Rous­toby) – com­menced to weaken after jump­ing the third last hur­dle and lost con­tact with the field. Rider was ques­tioned in re­gard to com­plet­ing course when his horse had com­menced weaken no­tice­ably and ad­vised in sim­i­lar cir­cum­stances fu­ture, to ex­er­cise his op­tion to ease his mount out of the event and not ne­go­ti­ate re­main­ing hur­dles. STRIKE THE STARS ( NZ) (B. Small) – stepped onto the third hur­dle, fell and dis­lodged its rider. There­after

geld­ing gal­loped freely on the in­side of the course after breaking through the in­side run­ning rail be­fore be­ing cap­tured. Rider was ex­am­ined by the First Care Med­i­cal Per­son­nel and cleared of in­jury. A post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. All run­ners in the event were ex­am­ined by Clubs Ve­teri­nary Sur­geon who re­ported no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties.

RACE 2: EL DES­PER­ADO (E. Fin­negan) – per­formed be­low ex­pec­ta­tions. Rider ex­plained that her in­struc­tions were to take up a for­ward po­si­tion on the fence if pos­si­ble. She added the geld­ing never trav­elled dur­ing the event, was off bri­dle in the vicin­ity of the 800 me­tres, dis­ap­point­ing and failed to finish the event off. A post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. SHERA KHAN (J. To­eroek) – awk­ward to be­gin, com­menced to over-race shortly there­after re­sult­ing in the sad­dle slip­ping for­ward run­ning. Rider re­ported it was his in­ten­tion to set­tle just out­side the leader but ow­ing to

man­ner in which the filly raced in early stages and his sad­dle slip­ping for­ward, he was obliged to lead in the event.

RACE 3: SUPREME PO­LAR­ITY (D. Tourneur) – in­clined to lay in, in the straight. IN­FIN­ITY QUEEN (M. Neil­son) - a post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. SUD­DEN WEALTH (T. Pan­nell) – stood flat-footed, re­fused to jump and lost many lengths at the start. As a con­se­quence, was tailed off dur­ing en­tire event. Stew­ards ad­vised Trainer Mr W. Clarken the mare would be re­quired to jump on terms with field in an Of­fi­cial Bar­rier Trial prior to ac­cept­ing for a fu­ture race. A post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. STRAGUN (P. Gatt) – knuck­led se­verely on jump­ing away. Rider re­ported that after his horse knuck­led at the start, it was re­luc­tant to stretch out dur­ing the event. A post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. Cor­rect Weight for this event was de­layed to al­low Stew­ards to re­view the start in re­la­tion SUD­DEN WEALTH.

RACE 4: BALF’S CHOICE (M. Neil­son) – laid in, in the straight. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge un­der AR137A(5) (a)(ii) for us­ing his whip on more than five oc­ca­sions prior to the 100 me­tres and was fined $500. In as­sess­ing penalty Stew­ards had re­gard for the con­text of the race and his use of the whip over the fi­nal 100 me­tres event. DANCES ON STARS ( NZ) (T. Pan­nell) – slow to be­gin. SAND­HILL STAR (V. Wong) – laid out through­out the event.

RACE 5: ALLEZ TARA (D. Caboche) - lost its off fore plate dur­ing the event. A post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. EIGELSTEIN (GB) (V. Wong) – rider pleaded guilty to a charge un­der AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for us­ing his whip on more than five oc­ca­sions prior to the 100 me­tres and was fined $100. THE WILLYBE (NZ) (A. Dar­manin) – rider pleaded guilty to a charge un­der AR137A(5)(a) (ii) for us­ing his whip on more than five oc­ca­sions prior to the 100 me­tres and was fined $100. RONG DOOR REG­GIE (J. Winks) - a post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. VIA CAVOUR (J. To­eroek) – rider pleaded guilty to a charge un­der AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for us­ing his whip on more than five oc­ca­sions prior to the 100 me­tres and was rep­ri­manded. KAZOOM (NZ) (A. Jord­sjo) – rider re­ported the geld­ing be­gan bet­ter than ex­pected and raced very keenly in the early stages of the event. As a re­sult, she was un­able to set­tle fur­ther back as in­tended. A post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. CARAK (J. Holder) – slow to be­gin. HIP­POGRIFF (D. Tourneur) – held up and had dif­fi­culty ob­tain­ing clear run­ning from near the en­trance to the straight un­til ap­proach­ing 300 me­tres.

RACE 6: HADDA COU­PLE (D. Caboche) – rolled out ap­proach­ing the 200 me­tres. A post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. VEGA DE LAGO (R. Clark) – ap­proach­ing the 1100 me­tres was awk­ward for sev­eral strides in­side heels of GROOVE WITH ME, which rolled in, was obliged to be stead­ied and con­tacted the in­side run­ning rail. ILOVEWHATSEBRINGS (P. Gatt) – laid out in the straight. LORD TOP­PER (T. Pan­nell) – rolled in slightly in­side the 300 me­tres and there­after ap­proach­ing the 200 me­tres con­tin­ued to roll in and shifted in onto AUTMED. A post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. GROOVE WITH ME (J. Holder) – rolled in, in the vicin­ity of the 1100 me­tres and tight­ened VEGA DE LAGO, which was in­con­ve­nienced. Rider re­minded of his obli­ga­tions when his mounts com­mence to shift ground. SPRING­FIELD LEW (V. Wong) – in­side the 300 me­tres raced in re­stricted room be­tween LORD TOP­PER, which shifted in and away from VIEIRA, which laid in and AUTMED, rolled out. As a con­se­quence, rider was obliged to steady his mount. A post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. VIEIRA (M. Neil­son) – laid in, in the straight. VON COSTA GLASS (C. Lin­dop) - a post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. AUTMED (D. Tourneur) – ap­proach­ing the 200 me­tres raced in re­stricted room be­tween LORD TOP­PER, which rolled and HADDA COU­PLE, which rolled out and was in­con­ve­nienced.

RACE 7: SAND­HILL FLASH (A. Jord­sjo) - A pos­trace ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed the geld­ing was lame in near hind leg. Trainer ad­vised a Ve­teri­nary Cer­tifi­cate of Fit­ness would be re­quired prior to pre­sent­ing the horse for a fu­ture trial or race. BAROOD (P. Gatt) – in­clined to lay out ap­proach­ing the 400 me­tres, shifted out to im­prove around run­ners, re­acted abruptly and ground wider on the track. PENNY FOR A POUND (M. Neil­son) – con­tacted near the 300 me­tres. CLASSY JACK (R. Clark) - a post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. SIR CHARLESTON (NZ) (D. Caboche) - un­der­went a pre-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion and passed fit to race. Ap­proach­ing the 200 me­tres was ac­ci­den­tally struck over the head by whip of R. Clark. SUPER RULES (C. Lin­dop) - a post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. CASQUE (D. Tourneur) – awk­ward to be­gin. Held up round­ing the home turn un­til near 300 me­tres. There­after shifted out to im­prove and con­tacted PENNY FOR A POUND.

RACE 8: JUS­TIFY THAT (J. Bowditch) – obliged to al­ter course to ob­tain clear run­ning ap­proach­ing the 200 me­tres the out­side of COUNTER SPIN. A pos­trace ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. EDGE­WOOD (P. Gatt) – laid out from in the vicin­ity of the home turn. RE­DEEM BOUNTY (J. To­eroek) - a post-race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed no vis­i­ble ab­nor­mal­i­ties. COUNTER SPIN (C. Lin­dop) – in­side the 1100 me­tres raced fiercely for some dis­tance. There­after laid out round­ing the home turn and shortly after en­trance to the straight laid in for a short dis­tance be­fore com­menc­ing to lay out for the re­main­der of the event. GREAT LANE (D. Tourneur) – which had not raced since March 2016 un­der­went a pre­race ve­teri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion and was passed fit to race. Awk­ward to be­gin. SERENELY DIS­CREET (M. Neil­son) – awk­ward to be­gin. In the vicin­ity of the 400 me­tres raced in re­stricted room be­tween the heels of BAT­TLE BREW­ING and EDGE­WOOD for a short dis­tance. Shortly after the en­trance to the straight was un­able im­prove its po­si­tion be­tween BAT­TLE BREW­ING and EDGE­WOOD and only ob­tained clear run­ning from in the vicin­ity of the 200 me­tres. Lost its near hind plate dur­ing the event.
