Race 5: Ill Have A Bit - af­ter be­ing frac­tious in its start­ing stall was slow to be­gin. Un­doubtable Miss - raced three wide with­out cover.. Rider Ryan Maloney was se­verely rep­ri­manded for fail­ing to ride his mount out fully to the fin­ish.. Arc­tic An­gel - rider Damian Lane ad­vised that the filly dipped and lost its ac­tion briefly near the 70m and for this rea­son he stopped rid­ing for a few strides..

Race 6: Wait For No One - con­nec­tions ad­vised would be rid­den qui­eter in an at­tempt to set­tle; raced keenly and wide with­out cover out­side the lead­ing horses. Cliffs Edge - be­gan awk­wardly, shifted in and made con­tact with Po­sei­dons Pool. Po­sei­dons Pool - bumped on the hindquar­ters by Cliffs Edge at the start. Kobayashi - raced keenly through the early stages.. A Thou­sand De­grees - raced keenly through the early and mid­dle stages.. Hartnell (GB) - rider Craig Wil­liams pleaded guilty to a charge un­der the pro­vi­sions of AR118A for fail­ing ride in the gear he weighed out in, that be­ing had changed a heavy vest for a lighter vest af­ter hav­ing weighed out to make the weight for sub­se­quent ride in Race 8.. Craig Wil­liams was fined $1000.. Craig Wil­liams pleaded guilty to a fur­ther charge un­der the pro­vi­sions of AR145 for re­turn­ing to scale in ex­cess of one kilo­gram over his de­clared weight and was fined a fur­ther $1000.. In ar­riv­ing at this de­ci­sion it es­tab­lished that Craig Wil­liams had re­alised be­hind the bar­ri­ers, by wear­ing lighter vest he po­ten­tially ran the risk of weigh­ing in un­der­weight and there­fore, risk­ing dis­qual­i­fi­ca­tion, he then took it upon him­self to seize some far­rier equip­ment and place it in his rid­ing boot en­sure he would not be un­der­weight.

Race 8: Lord Von Costa - slow to be­gin.. Checked se­verely just prior to the home turn near the 350m, af­ter mak­ing con­tact with the run­ning rail by shift­ing in and away from Brave Smash (JPN).. Santa Ana Lane - slow to be­gin.. Stead­ied at the 200m to avoid the heels of Murt The Flirt.. Brave Smash - slow be­gin. Held up for a short dis­tance round­ing the home turn. Vega Magic - raced keenly and wide with­out cover in the early and mid­dle stages. Lord Da Vinci - fifth placeget­ter; rider David Pires was found guilty of a charge un­der the pro­vi­sions of AR137(b) for fail­ing to ride his mount out fully to the fin­ish hands and heels.. David Pires was fined $500 and in as­sess­ing penalty took into ac­count his good record.. Murt The Flirt -a post race vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed the geld­ing to be dis­tressed post race. Most Im­por­tant - rider Mark Zahra re­ported the geld­ing was worked up pre-race and hung out round­ing home turn then gave ground in the straight.. A post race vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties other than a slow re­cov­ery.. Race 9: Divine Mr Ar­tie - late scratch­ing by or­der of Stew­ards at 2.20pm when trainer Bren­dan McCarthy ad­vised that the geld­ing was show­ing signs of colic. Ne­vis (IRE) - con­nec­tions ad­vised would lead to­day; raced wide be­hind the lead­ers af­ter fail­ing to muster suf­fi­cient speed

lead.. Ham­pered at the 1000m when taken out off its course by Ozi Choice which when over-rac­ing shifted out across the heels of Ma­jes­tic Duke which was also shift­ing in.. Af­ter tak­ing into ac­count that Ozi Choice (Ben Allen) was rac­ing fiercely and that Ma­jes­tic Duke (Chelsea Hall) had shifted in and con­trib­uted to this in­ci­dent, the Stew­ards no­ti­fied Chelsea Hall and Ben Allen to ex­er­cise more care when in sim­i­lar cir­cum­stances fu­ture.. Se­verely checked near the 350m to avoid the heels of Ozi Choice which had shifted out away from Ma­jes­tic Duke which in turn been taken out slightly by Os­cars My Mate Pa (Beau Mertens).. This tight­en­ing was ac­cen­tu­ated due to Ne­vis (IRE) hav­ing also shifted in slightly.. Af­ter tak­ing into ac­count all of the cir­cum­stances, Stew­ards no­ti­fied Beau Mertens that he must en­sure that he is clear of run­ners to his out­side when shift­ing ground in fu­ture.. Mr Won­der­ful - stead­ied at the 1350m to avoid the heels of Ozi Choice (Ben Allen) which was shift­ing in; Ben Allen se­verely rep­ri­manded. Ta­ha­nee (ARG) - got its head up in the early stages when over-rac­ing. Wayanka - held for clear run­ning from the 500m and near the 350m was stead­ied when dis­ap­pointed for a run be­tween Ne­vis (IRE) and Ozi Choice. Ti­amo Grace - stead­ied at the 350m to avoid the heels of Ne­vis (IRE).. Here To There (NZ) - ap­pren­tice Ethan Brown dropped his whip near the 200m..
