Race 1: Run­way Queen - late with­drawal on vet­eri­nary ad­vice at 8.42am. Jus­tice Glory - slow to be­gin. Play That Song - taken out off its course at the 400m when brushed by Watchme­spin which shifted out. Mahlani (NZ) - raced wide round­ing the home turn. Rider Michael Dee ad­vised that he had in­tended to race for­ward to­day, how­ever af­ter be­gin­ning awk­wardly he then re­strained the filly to avoid be­ing caught wide. A post race vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties. Hard Faith - laid out un­der pres­sure in the home straight.

Race 2: Swamp­land (NZ) - sec­ond placeget­ter; prior to cor­rect weight rider Chris Sy­mons viewed the patrol film be­fore de­cid­ing not to lodge an ob­jec­tion. Held up for clear run­ning from the 400m un­til shift­ing out across the heels of Ore­gons Day at 200m. Heav­enly De­scent - bounded at the start and was slow to be­gin. Got its head up when be­ing re­strained near the 1000m. Checked ap­proach­ing the fin­ish when mak­ing ground to avoid the heels of Vi­tal Im­por­tance. Ta­ha­nee (ARG) - got its head up in the early stages when over­rac­ing and then raced wide with­out cover. War Baby - raced four wide with­out cover from the 1000m. Fa­lika (NZ) - be­came un­bal­anced at the 1000m af­ter be­ing brushed by Heav­enly De­scent which was over-racing. Held up for clear run­ning upon straight­en­ing to the in­side of Schism and over con­clud­ing stages had to steady to avoid heels. Schism - ap­pren­tice Ethan Brown could of­fer no ex­pla­na­tion for the per­for­mance, which was be­low ex­pec­ta­tions. A post race vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties and a swab sam­ple was taken for anal­y­sis.

Race 3: Devils Pinch - con­nec­tions ad­vised would be rid­den back to­day in an ef­fort to fin­ish off; set­tled be­hind the lead­ing horses. Saint Val­orem - slow to be­gin. Had dif­fi­culty ob­tain­ing clear run­ning be­tween Vi­o­late and Smart As You Think from the 300m un­til passing the 100m Vi­o­late - slow to be­gin. Tribal Wis­dom over-raced through the mid­dle stages. Dusty Jack - raced wide with­out cover. Rider Re­gan Bayliss was of the opin­ion his mount would be bet­ter suited on a track with more give. A post race vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties. Bezel - had dif­fi­culty ob­tain­ing clear run­ning af­ter passing the 200m and then over con­clud­ing stages was un­able to ob­tain a clear run and went the line not fully tested. Hal­lelu­jah Boy (JPN) - rider Blake Shinn was of the view his mount would be suited over fur­ther dis­tance and rid­den on the pace. A post race vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed horse to have gen­eral sore­ness, pre­dom­i­nantly in the near hind leg, and will re­quire a vet­eri­nary clear­ance prior to racing again. A swab sam­ple was also taken for anal­y­sis.

Race 4: Mer­chant Navy - slow to be­gin. Evil Cry - raced wide with­out cover. Booker - raced three wide with­out cover. Trekking - stead­ied at the 350m when held up be­hind Kobayashi. Mu­raahib - held up for clear run­ning from the 300m un­til the 100m. Rider Blake Shinn was rep­ri­manded and for per­mit­ting his mount to shift ground when not clear not the 200m. Po­sei­dons Pool - stead­ied at the 200m when tight­ened for room be­tween Plo­ver­set and Mu­raahib (Blake Shinn) which shifted af­ter be­ing held up be­hind Kobayashi which was weak­en­ing. Kobayashi - ap­pren­tice Ben Thomp­son re­ported his mount did not stretch out to­day. A post race vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties. Plo­ver­set - rider Re­gan Bayliss re­ported his mount got its tongue over the bit.

Race 5: Divine Chills - Stew­ards ac­ceded to a re­quest from trainer John Sadler to with­draw the mare due the track up­grade and Divine Chills was sub­se­quently a late with­drawal by or­der of Stew­ards at 12.50pm. Writ­ten Era - slow to be­gin. Fuhryk - when racing keenly in the mid­dle stages, got its head up be­ing re­strained passing the 800m. Had dif­fi­culty ob­tain­ing clear run­ning in the straight passing the 200m un­til ap­proach­ing 100m. When ques­tioned for­mally with re­gard to the tac­tics in the early stages as to whether it was open him take up a more for­ward posi­ton, al­beit in con­trast to its nor­mal racing pat­tern, Craig Wil­liams ex­plained that the mare had never led and won pre­vi­ously. He re­it­er­ated he was able to gain a good po­si­tion early but was sim­ply not suited by the tempo of the race, racing in re­stricted room and was close enough to the even­tual win­ner on home turn to be a dan­ger. Miss Cover Girl - be­came un­bal­anced at 700m when its hindquar­ters were bumped out­wards by Jen­nifer Lynn which, when racing keenly, shifted out away from Fuhryk af­ter be­ing brushed by that mare. Raced four wide with­out cover. A post race vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties other than the mare had lost its near hind plate. Sa­vanna Amour - held up for clear run­ning from the 400m un­til near the 200m and then stead­ied for a few strides be­fore ob­tain­ing clear run­ning to the in­side of For­eign Af­fair. Jen­nifer Lynn - held up for clear run­ning from the 300m un­til ap­proach­ing

100m. Lyuba - a post race vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion of the mare iden­ti­fied the pres­ence of blood at both nos­trils. Af­ter scop­ing, it was opin­ion

the RV vet­eri­nary sur­geon such bleed­ing at­trib­ut­able to ex­ter­nal trauma. The mare was also found to be lame in the off fore­leg and will re­quire a vet­eri­nary clear­ance prior to racing again.

Race 6: So Si Bon - be­gan awk­wardly. Weve Got This - eased down in the straight; rider Craig Ne­witt was of the view there some­thing amiss with the geld­ing. A post race vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties other than the geld­ing had lost its near fore plate. Shei­del - rider Craig Wil­liams said his mount was un­der pres­sure at the top of the straight and failed to fin­ish race off. A post race vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion failed to re­veal any ab­nor­mal­i­ties and a swab sam­ple was taken for anal­y­sis. Voodoo Lad - pulled up dis­tressed af­ter the race and will re­quire a vet­eri­nary clear­ance prior to racing again.

Race 7: Charmed Har­mony - Stew­ards ac­ceded to a re­quest from trainer John Sadler to with­draw the geld­ing due the track up­grade and Charmed Har­mony was sub­se­quently a late with­drawal by or­der of Stew­ards at 12.50pm. Black Heart Bart - un­der­went a vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion af­ter ar­riv­ing on course and was passed suit­able to race. Hu­mi­dor (NZ) - slow be­gin. Hey Doc raced keenly in the mid­dle stages. I Am A Star (NZ) - stead­ied at the 500m to avoid the heels of Tosen Star­dom (JPN). Tosen Star­dom (JPN) - held up near the 400m be­fore shift­ing in to gain clear run­ning shortly af­ter. Jon Snow (NZ) - stead­ied passing the 200m when tight­ened for room be­tween Black Heart Bart, which shifted in slightly, and Hey Doc which shifted out slightly. Yan­kee Rose - rider Dean Yen­dall got his whip en­tan­gled in the reins for sev­eral strides near the 200m af­ter drop­ping his off-side rein. Trainer David Vandyke re­ported that the mare was lame in the near fore­leg on re­turn to sta­ble af­ter it shifted a plate dur­ing the event and vet­eri­nary clear­ance will be re­quired prior to racing again.

Race 8: As­sign (IRE) - con­nec­tions ad­vised would be rid­den pos­i­tively; led. Am­ralah (IRE) - con­nec­tions ad­vised would be rid­den pos­i­tively; set­tled be­hind the lead­ers. Stead­ied at the 1100m to avoid the heels of As­sign (IRE) which was shift­ing in. Vengeur Masque (IRE) - be­gan awk­wardly and shifted out abruptly. Har­lem (GB) slow into stride be­fore then hav­ing to steady to avoid the heels of Am­ralah (IRE), which shifted out. Don Doremo (NZ) - slow to be­gin. Ven­tura Storm (IRE) - stead­ied passing the 1500m to avoid the heels of Tally which shifted out to avoid the heels of Amelies Star. A post race vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed the horse had been gal­loped on near fore­leg and will re­quire a vet­eri­nary clear­ance prior to racing again. Mag­na­pal - forced out off its course by Guar­dini (FR) ap­proach­ing the 400m. Checked passing 200m when tight­ened for room be­tween Dul­ver­ton and Har­lem (GB), which ini­tially shifted out away from Ti­amo Grace af­ter be­ing brushed by that mare which had shifted out seek­ing a clear run. Dul­ver­ton - crowded for room and had to be checked ap­proach­ing the 400m. Stead­ied passing 200m af­ter be­ing tight­ened for room be­tween Amelies Star and Mag­na­pal which had been taken out by Har­lem (GB) which had shifted out away from Ti­amo Grace. Whilst the de­gree of in­ter­fer­ence was se­vere the Stew­ards were not com­fort­ably sat­is­fied to lay a charge against Mark Zahra (Har­lem (GB)) for shift­ing out given the sig­nif­i­cant crowd­ing lead­ing up to the in­ci­dent when rider of Ti­amo Grace was at­tempt­ing to shift out to ob­tain clear run­ning. Ti­amo Grace - held up for clear run­ning from the 300m un­til ap­proach­ing 100m. Brad Raw­iller (Guar­dini (FR)) - pleaded guilty to a charge of care­less riding un­der the pro­vi­sions of AR137(a), care­less­ness be­ing that he rode his mount out ap­proach­ing the 400m forc­ing Mag­na­pal out off its course into the path of Dul­ver­ton re­sult­ing in Dul­ver­ton be­ing crowded for room and hav­ing to be re­strained to avoid the heels of Mag­na­pal. Brad Raw­iller had his li­cence to ride in races sus­pended for a pe­riod to com­mence at mid­night Septem­ber 2nd and to ex­pire at mid­night Septem­ber 12th, a to­tal of ten race meet­ings (two metropoli­tan, eight pro­vin­cial). In as­sess­ing penalty Stew­ards took into ac­count his guilty plea and good record and that the care­less­ness was in midrange.

Race 9: Yes­ter­days Songs - Stew­ards ac­ceded to a re­quest from trainer Mike Moroney to with­draw the geld­ing due the track up­grade and Yes­ter­days Songs was sub­se­quently a late with­drawal by or­der of Stew­ards at 4.20pm. De­duc­tions: dou­ble bets 18 cents in the dol­lar. Divine Mr Ar­tie - af­ter be­ing loaded in its start­ing stall be­came frac­tious and reared, un­der­went a vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion was sub­se­quently late with­drawal on vet­eri­nary ad­vice at 5.26pm. The start of the race was de­layed slightly and the geld­ing must now gain fur­ther ap­proval in a jump out prior to racing again. All monies bet for win and/or place and con­ces­sion bet­ting on Divine Mr Ar­tie to be re­funded. All suc­cess­ful bets horses prior 5.26pm are sub­ject to the fol­low­ing de­duc­tions in
