Vets- slow recovery & an endoscopic examination detected a degree of mucus that may have affected performance. 06-MAY-17 MORP Inside the 100m shifted out under riding. Approaching the 200m raced up onto heels and shifted out to obtain clear running. BELLWHIST Brooke Schreuder 21-AUG-17 ECHA Tactics queried. Rider questioned regarding tactics, explained was given no spec’ instructions, his personal pref’ for L/ side track was to take up forward pos’, but after jumping awkwardly from wide barrier, was left with no option but to ride horse back in the field, noting it was only having its 2nd race start today. 26-JUL17 SANH Raced three wide without cover.
Race 3: SUNDAY PRAY John Moloney 23-AUG-17 SANH Hampered at the start. Vet exam revealed thumps. 06-AUG-17 SANL Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages. When questioned regarding his riding tactics, particularly approaching and passing the 800m, apprentice explained that his mount had a tendency to over-race and for this reason he to steady off heels which forced him wider on the course. He further explained that he restrained his mount in an attempt to gain cover, as did not want to expose the gelding too early, as it was first up. He added that in hindsight it may have been more prudent to allow his mount to stride forward. VENATOR Cindy Alderson 20-JUL-17 SALE shortly after the start had its hindquarters turned sideways and bumped by Monajet. BRYAN Jarrod McLean 04-AUG-17 WKBL Slow to begin.
