The Sportsman Midweek - - Trackwork - — Greg Spletter

SIA (R4 No. 2) may have been disappointing for favourite backers when she went down first-up as a long odds-on favourite but we can square the ledger by backing up with her at Geelong tomorrow. She did make a ton of ground in the run home after missing the kick, and previous before the break at Flemington was excellent when beaten just a length down the straight behind Royal Phoenix. PURE EMOTION (R5 No. 4) goes very well fresh and back to a class one tomorrow can return to racing with a win. She was beaten in a developed print last prep when resuming, and the first-up run of her previous campaign resulted great effort behind the smart filly Tulip. Looks well weighted for this grade and will go close. MIALIGN (R7 No. 6) caught the eye with a good run at Cranbourne when making her Australian debut and with that run under her belt can break through here. Her form across the ditch was encouraging, she proved at her first outing for Robert Smerdon that is well up to this grade.
