Santa looks on track for his Ever­est as­cent

SANTA ANA LANE is on track for The Ever­est and worked nicely to cover 800m in 52.18 and his clos­ing 400m 24.38 last Tues­day morn­ing.

He then took part in the fastest jumpout last Fri­day with BANDIPUR and OUR

CROWN MIS­TRESS cross­ing the line to­gether about a length clear of OS­BORNE BULLS and an­other length and half back to Santa Ana Lane who wasn’t ex­tended at any stage.

The time recorded of 47.83 is a strong in­di­ca­tion that this

group of horses are ready to run well when they next step out.

I AM EX­CITED has trained on well since her re­cent firstup run and David Pfi­ef­fer has pen­cilled in Satur­day’s How Now Stakes at Caulfield for her next start.

She looked bright and fit gal­lop­ing solo over 800m last Tues­day morn­ing, cov­er­ing the jour­ney in 55.36 and her fi­nal 400m 24.61.

The daugh­ter of Snitzel boasts an im­pres­sive sec­ondup record and looks in great shape lead­ing into next week­end.

Mike Moroney has kept POTEMKIN on the fresh side since his run ex­tremely heavy ground at War­rnam­bool late last month and he ap­pears to thriv­ing on his cur­rent work­load. Last Thurs­day he pulled up well af­ter clock­ing 1.38.90 for his 1400m as­sign­ment and 25.47 for his last 400m.

The son of Testa Rossa heads to Cran­bourne to­mor­row for his next run and he is ca­pa­ble of im­prov­ing dra­mat­i­cally on

most re­cent form.

ME­TEOR LIGHT, also pre­pared by Moroney, is at peak fit­ness fol­low­ing re­cent rac­ing and is hold­ing his con­di­tion well.

He was kept up to the mark work­ing over 1400m last Tues­day morn­ing and looked to have plenty in re­serve cov­er­ing

the trip in 1.39.36 and his fi­nal 400m 25.55.

The im­ported son of Clodovil should ap­pre­ci­ate the step up to 2080m at Cran­bourne to­mor­row and is ready to run to his best.

FORSURE re­sume for the Mathew Eller­ton and Si­mon Zahra sta­ble and tuned up his first-up run with a solid per­for­mance dur­ing last Fri­day’s jumpouts.

Af­ter set­tling at the tail of the field of six he made ground near in­side to win his heat over ap­prox­i­mately 800m in the time of 49.82.

With an­other re­cent jumpout also un­der his he is for­ward enough to run well at Cran­bourne to­mor­row.
