Jon on song to take on the champ in Turnbull

The Sportsman Midweek - - Trackwork - WARREN HUNTLY

JON SNOW and BONNEVAL teamed up for a gallop last Tuesday morning and the Group 1 winning stablemates from the Murray Baker Andrew Forsman stable were responsible for one of the morning’s most impressive pieces of work.

They kept close company during their 1400m assignment, completing the journey in 1.31.47 and running home their final 400m in 23.79.

Jon Snow produced an eye catching run at his first Australian start this campaign in the Makybe Diva Stakes and

is in fantastic order to take on the might of Winx in Saturday’s Turnbull Stakes at Flemington.

FANAAR, from the Lindsay Park team, SUN CITY, prepared by Tony McEvoy and LANIGERA, trained by James Cummings, were among a group of two-yearolds to jump out impressively down the straight course last Friday in preparation for Saturday’s Maribyrnong Trial Stakes.

There wasn’t much between them as they passed the finishing post recording 46.35 which was the quickest of four heats run over 800m.

All three horses mentioned should acquit themselves well if they line up at Flemington

on the weekend.

GRAND SCHOLAR was another two-year- old from the Tony McEvoy stable to perform well in last Friday’s straight course jumpouts and the daughter of Wandjina looked very tractable winning her heat in 47.10.

McEvoy has a strong team of juveniles that will make their debuts at either Flemington next Saturday or Caulfield a week later and Grand Scholar should make her presence felt when she heads to the races for the first time.

PARSIFAL has trained on well since his first up run over 1200m at Sale.

Last Tuesday, the son of Darci Brahma pulled up well after covering 1000m in 1.08.55 and his last 400m in 25.47.

He is a previous second-up winner and should prove hard to beat over 1400m. REFLECTIVITY is ready resume and Team Hawkes have him in terrific order leading into a spring campaign.

He impressed winning the quickest of the jumpouts on course proper from the 2000m start last Friday and his time of 47.32 for the trip of about 800m underlines how well he is coming to hand.

In the same heat ALL THAT SHE WANTS and SUNQUEST were also responsible for performances worth noting and should be keeping on side when they step out in the near future.
