Emo­tion’s ready to break through af­ter im­pres­sive trial

THERE should be a maiden win in lightly raced filly Pure Emo­tion af­ter she pro­duced the stand­out gal­lop at Tues­day’s Caulfield jump outs.

The two-year-old, trained by Clin­ton McDon­ald, ran about av­er­age time for the morn­ing and looked to have plenty in hand as she won her 700m heat.

Pure Emo­tion has only had three starts to date, high­lighted by a sec­ond Tulip at Moonee Val­ley, and can be placed to ad­van­tage.

Heat 1 (43.06): OUR VIDIA DAZZY’S DAY du­elled for the lead with RE­VOLV­ING DOOR sit­ting a length or so be­hind them. Our Vidia even­tu­ally took over but was sit­ting shot as Re­volv­ing Door came be­tween the lead­ers to win eas­ily. Heat 2 (43.95): TOCCO D’ORO (2c, Smer­don) took it up with DOC­TOR GIL­LIES (2g, Smer­don) handy and GET’N BY (2c, Price) out three wide. DAZ­ZLING RAIN (2c, Ma­her) had a trail. Tocco D’Oro was un­der lit­tle less pres­sure and just held Doc­tor Gil­lies with a cou­ple to Daz­zling Rain rid­den up in third. Oth­ers: Plato, The Happy Hooker. Heat 3 (43.17): PURE EMO­TION was first out and led ZOU YORK (2c, Price) be­tween PRETTY TO SEA (2f, Ma­her) CATSKILL ROC Webb). Pure Emo­tion al- ways trav­elled well and won by a length over a hard rid­den MYBOYCHARLIE/ FLY FORGOLD (Dwyer) and Zou York also un­der some rid­ing. Oth­ers: Pamela, Hard Ruler. Heat 4 (43.95): MIA GE­OR­GIA (2f, Moloney) landed in front from MALAKIYA (2f, Price) get­ting around SHAKE THAT (2f, McDon­ald) and LU BU (2c, Price). All were tested and Shake That scored a nar­row win over Mia Ge­or­gia and Lu Bu a close third. Oth­ers: Borella, Sec­ond Thought.

Heat 5 (43.97): GEEGEE BOOM (2f, Dwyer) took a while to find the front over SUN WUKONG (2c, Price) and TOORAK BEAUTY (2f, McDon­ald). ZHANG LIAO

took off around them midrace. Un­der hard rid­ing Sun Wukong just downed Geegee Boom and Zhang Liao about a length away.

Oth­ers: Ais­linn, Pro­found Choice. Heat 6 (43.88): MEAN TO ME (2f, Dwyer) jumped a length in front from SE­DUC­TIVE MISS and CUT

LASS (2g, Price) who im­proved quickly. EARNEST CREDERE (2c, Sadler) was wider out and rolled for­ward midrace. Mean To Me was dug up and won nicely from

HULME (2c, Price) run­ning on late and Earnest Choice close up.

Heat 7 (43.22): COM­BAT­IVE (2f, Ma­her) was taken on by NO DOUBT A LADY (2f, Price) and AN­OTHER DE­MON go­ing up wider out. An­other De­mon wasn’t overly pres­sured in beat­ing Com­bat­ive a half length and No Doubt A Lady not far off. Oth­ers: Gone Girl, Si­enna Sunset, Grand Casino.

Heat 8 (42.03): DOLCE BOY (3c, McDon­ald) showed plenty of speed to lead by a big mar­gin from LEN

NON’S PAD­DOCK (3f, Moloney) and THE BIG SUR. SIS­TINE SAINT made a bit of ground from the back. Dolce Boy had far too much speed and not rid­den out com­pletely won by about 12 lengths over Sis­tine Saint THE WAY YOU MOVE in third. Oth­ers: Zar­tini, Mrs Martin.
