Moroney duo ready to Strike

STRIKE FORCE and SOG­NANI teamed up for a solid gal­lop on Tues­day morn­ing and the Mike Moroney-trained sta­ble­mates are in good or­der for their re­spec­tive as­sign­ments this week­end. They fin­ished off their work­out in good style to cover 1200m in 1.22.68 and their fi­nal 400m in 24.14.

Strike Force has fresh­ened up well and im­por­tantly re­tained a good deal of resid­ual fit­ness lead­ing into his next run at Sandown to­mor­row, while Sog­nani has been pro­gress­ing well i n re­cent weeks and re­sumes at Cran­bourne tonight.

Moroney also paired up BU­GLE CALL and

CHERO­KEE on Tues­day morn­ing and they fin­ished off their hit out in im­pres­sive fash­ion.

They looked fit and strong fol­low­ing their 1600m gal­lop, clock­ing 1.51.54 for the trip and 24.37 their clos­ing 400m.

Both horses head to Cran­bourne tonight and in par­tic­u­lar Bu­gle Call should prove hard to beat in the sixth event over 2580m.

The Ka­vanaghs, Levi and Mark, paired up their re­spec­tive charges, SOHO RUBY and OC

TUPLETS, for a work­out on Tues­day morn­ing and both gal­lop­ers head to the same race over 1600m at Sandown to­mor­row. They com­bined to pro­duce on the morn­ing’s sharpest pieces of work to run 1400m in 1.37.07 and their last 400m in 23.40.

Soho Ruby is hold­ing her con­di­tion well and has been rac­ing in good form whereas Oc­tu­plets

de­rived sig­nif­i­cant im­prove­ment from her two runs this cam­paign and is ap­proach­ing peak

fit­ness head­ing into this week­end.

WHAT A SHOCK has re­turned to rac­ing in good form and has come through his last start vic­tory at Bal­larat in great shape.

The Mathew Eller­ton and Si­mon Zahra­trained son of Shock­ing was kept up to the mark cruis­ing over 1000m on Tues­day morn­ing and had plenty up his sleeve cov­er­ing the jour­ney in 1.13.68 and his fi­nal 400m in a steady 26.53.

Pro­vided he strikes rea­son­ably firm ground at Sandown should be fight­ing out the fin­ish.

DIAOCHAN and ROCK­ET­COD teamed up for their gal­lop on Tues­day morn­ing and the Hayes and Dabernig-pre­pared sta­ble­mates kept close com­pany dur­ing their work­out.

Quick­en­ing over the con­clud­ing stages of their 1000m work­out they both pulled up well af­ter cov­er­ing the jour­ney in 1.08.86 and their clos­ing 400m in 24.39.

Diaochan is sure to prove hard to beat in the first race at Cran­bourne tonight and Rock­et­cod is sure to ap­pre­ci­ate step­ping up beyond 1200m fol­low­ing his en­cour­ag­ing first-up run.
