1000m: Lo­cated in a short chute that joins the course proper af­ter a short dis­tance and fea­tures a straight run to the only turn. In­side bar­ri­ers of some ad­van­tage.

1100m: Starts in a chute off the course proper with a slightly an­gled run to the course proper af­ter about 150m then has a straight home turn. In­side gates have some ad­van­tage.

1200m: Lo­cated in a chute off the course proper, pro­vid­ing a slightly an­gled run of 250m to proper and a straight to the home cor­ner. In­side bar­ri­ers have a slight ad­van­tage.

1400m: Starts in a chute off the course proper. An­gled run of 450m to the first cor­ner, then a straight run to the home bend. Again in­side bar­ri­ers have slight ad­van­tage.

1600m: Lo­cated in a chute off the course proper. Straight run of 650m to the first cor­ner, pro­vid­ing a very fair start. In­side bar­ri­ers have a slight ad­van­tage, es­pe­cially in larger fields.

1800m: Si­t­u­ated on the course proper on the side of the track. There is a short run to first cor­ner, how­ever, bar­ri­ers are of lit­tle im­por­tance.

2000m: Si­t­u­ated on the course proper on the turn out of the straight. Run­ners are a curve un­til they reach 1550m and the back stretch. Fields are re­stricted to 14 from start in­side bar­ri­ers have slight ad­van­tage.

2400m: This bar­rier is si­t­u­ated on the course proper in the home straight. Al­though there is only a short run to first cor­ner, bar­ri­ers are of lit­tle con­se­quence.

3200m: The Cup start is lo­cated on the course proper be­fore the sweep­ing turn for home. Be­cause of dis­tance in­volved bar­ri­ers are of lit­tle im­por­tance.
