Sayed capable of repeat performance
SAYED did the right thing for us by winning last start at Randwick on August 5 beating Get On The Grange by over 5 lengths and running away.
The Storm Atlantic five-yearold stayer can bring up a winning hat-trick tomorrow at Randwick over 2400m in race two.
The French import ran a best of the morning gallop last Saturday on the inside grass (out 11m) when timed over 1000m in 1:09.88, last 600m in 39.20 and final 200m in 12.66.
The was strong staying work by the Chris Waller-trained galloper.
Stablemate FOUR CARAT will start in the same race and after three runs back from a spell his trackwork has improved.
He also worked last Saturday and was clocked over 1400m in 1:38.90 with a final 600m in 38.90
last 400m in 23.90. That has been the best he has worked this preparation and is sure to make a better showing in the Randwick Mayor’s Cup on weekend.
WINX resumes from a spell in the Group 2 Bob Ingham Warwick Stakes ( 1400m) and is long odds-on to bring up 18 straight wins.
Waller has done a fantastic job with the champion mare who has returned in perfect order and if anything I think she looks more forward condition.
Her trackwork on Monday was as usual first rate when working on the Course Proper (8m out) over 1000m in 1:09.60, last 600m in 39.03 and final 200m in 12.23.
She was only coasting up the
straight and came off the track looking a picture of health and fitness.
HARPER’S CHOICE ran a solid fifth when resuming at Randwick on August 5 in the Group 2 Missile Stakes (1200m).
He was run off his feet early and doing best work at the finish and will appreciate tomorrow’s extra distance.
He has come through that race very well and has a genu-
ine place hope in the WFA contest for trainer Gerald Ryan and jockey Glyn Schofield.
DEPLOY has not raced since the Brisbane Carnival in June and resumes in the Group 3 Show County Quality (1200m).
Ryan has not trialled the smart sprinter but is working well. This was evident on Tuesday morning when with stablemate Tango Rain the Course Proper (out 14m).
The pair dashed up 600m in 35.56 with a final 200m in 11.94 and Deploy is ready to run a great race tomorrow.
TRAPEZE ARTIST has his first run back tomorrow in the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes (1300m) and has 61kg to carry.
The Ryan-trained colt is not at his top but is a very good three-year-old who showed his talent with a sixth in last season’s Golden Slipper.
His latest trial on August 1 will help him fitness wise when second to Champagne Cuddles beaten a short half head in 54.50 for 900m heat.
His work on Tuesday morning on the Course Proper (out 14m) was good when working with stablemate Inz’N’Out over 600m in 35.95 with a final 200m in 12.19.
This son of Snitzel is worth following this spring.
