EZR mare set to fire first-up
HEATHERLY is ready to resume and Mathew Ellerton Simon Zahra travelled her to Moonee Valley on Tuesday morning for a hit out leading into her first-up run at The Valley tomorrow.
Following two typically impressive performances in recent jumpouts she covered 800m in 52.78 and her final 400m in 24.28 at Moonee Valley appeared to be working well within herself. The daughter of Lonhro lines up in the Carlyon Stakes over 1000m and looks ideally placed in that event.
Tony McEvoy paired up AZAZEL and
ROOMOOZ at Moonee Valley on Tuesday morning in preparation for their respective assignments over 1200m at The Valley.
They travelled down the home straight alongside each other to clock 1.05.97 for 1000m and 24.60 their closing 400m.
Azazel has trained on well since his firstup victory down the Flemington straight and Roomooz has been given a solid grounding for her first-up run this weekend. SUPER HAZE and TIME TO TEST were also sent out together by McEvoy at Moonee Val- ley and they galloped strongly over 1600m.
There as plenty to like about the way they finished off their workout running journey in 1.52.18 and quickening nicely down the home straight to cover their last 400m in 24.37.
Super Haze has been racing good form and is sure to run well again over 2500m tomorrow while Time To Test resumes over 2040m and looks to have a solid fit- ness base to run over that trip first-up. Godolphin gallopers
BANDIPUR and ACHI BABA teamed up for a workout at Moonee Valley and the James Cummings-trained stablemates kept pretty close company during their hit out. Both horses pulled up well after clocking 1.07.51 1000m and neither was tested over the closing stages to run their final 400m in 25.15.
Bandipur has re- turned to Flemington in outstanding order following his stakes victory in Adelaide and should prove hard to beat over 1200m at The Valley while Achi Baba is likely to resume Cranbourne on Sunday.
MERRIEST has been working in eye catching style leading into her first-up run and Danny O’Brien has settled on an event over 1200m at Moonee Valley tomorrow as the most suitable race to kick off her next campaign.
Following impressive performances in a trial and a jumpout preparation for her return to the track she worked sharply at Moonee Valley on Tuesday morning covering 800m in 53.35 and her last 400m in 23.97.
The daughter of Denman is a previous firstup winner and is in terrific order for tomorrow’s event.
Heatherly is trialling well ahead of resuming in tomorrow’s Carlyon Stakes
