Step-up in trip will suit Tally
TALLY and ETYMOLOGY teamed up for a workout on Tuesday morning and the James Cummings-trained duo galloped strongly over 1400m.
Tally finished off the session in impressive style to clock 1.37.50 for the journey and 24.08 his final 400m.
He has trained on nicely since his encouraging first-up run and is sure to appreciate stepping up in distance in tomorrow’s Heatherlie Stakes at Caulfield.
Cummings also paired up SOUCHEZ and BE
ZEL for Tuesday morning’s gallop they were responsible for a solid piece of work over 1000m.
They recovered quickly after covering the trip in 1.06.40, quickening nicely over concluding stages to run their last 400m in 24.40.
Bezel has been given a solid grounding to resume at Caulfield while Souchez has derived significant improvement from his recent first-up run and is in great shape for second up run.
TRIBAL WISDOM and YESTERDAY’S SONGS also teamed up for a workout on Tuesday morning and the Mike Morney-trained stablemates galloped impressively leading into their respective assignments at Caulfield.
They produced one of the morning’s most impressive pieces of work to run 1000m in 1.05.02 and their closing 400m in a slick 23.58.
Yesterday’s Songs is holding his condition well whereas Tribal Wisdom will strip fitter at Caulfield and also appreciate stepping up in distance beyond the 1000m of his first-up run. MONTOYA’S SECRET has trained on well since her recent first-up run and the Team Corstens-prepared daughter of High Chaparral stepped out over 1200m on Tuesday morning.
She cruised through the early part of her workout, increasing the tempo as she approached the finishing post to cover distance in 1.25.06 and her final 400m 25.23.
Although she will derive further benefit from her next run or two, she will be suited by the step up in trip in tomorrow’s Heatherlie Stakes and can be expected to improve significantly on her first-up run.
The Neville Parnham- trained MALIBU STYLE appears to have come through last week’s eye catching performance to effortlessly win a jumpout in great shape and looked bright and fit cruising over 1000m in even time on Tuesday.
He was racing in terrific form during his most recent preparation and gives every indication he is ready to give a great sight when he resumes at Caulfield.
Tally will appreciate the step up in distance at Caulfield tomorrow
