RE­DOU­BLE is a new edi­tion to the Bjorn Baker sta­ble and he has been com­ing along nicely for his re­turn to rac­ing.

He wasn’t knocked about in a re­cent trial and Tues­day he gal­loped on the A Grass over 1000m in 1.06.14 fi­nal 400m in 24.91 last 200m in 12.15.

He runs in the last race and nor­mally races well fresh. SIN­GLE BUL­LET was held up at a vi­tal stage when fin­ish­ing sec­ond in the Her­itage Stakes at Rand­wick at his first run from a spell.

He has made nat­u­ral im­prove­ment since and Tues­day on the Course Proper he gal­loped with a mate over 1000m in 1.09. 53 fi­nal 400m in 22.78 last 200m in 10.82.

Trainer Gar y Por telli fresh from his Group 1 suc­cess last Fri­day night was happy with his work and he will be hard to beat in the Ro­man Con­sul Stakes.
