Said on jump­ing, elected to al­low rnrs to inside imp & crossed over to­wards rail in early stages. Added mount never re­ally trav­elled at any stage & was some­what dis­ap­point­ing in its fail­ure to fin­ish race off. Post-race vet exam did not rev any abs. 14 MELBERRA STAR 30/09/2017 Kem­bla Grange Briefly held up on straight­en­ing and had to be shifted to the out­side of an­other run­ner con­tinue into clear run­ning. Laid out un­der pres­sure for the re­main­der of the event. 15e BRONZED VENOM 7/10/2017 Royal Rand­wick Held up for clear run­ning be­tween rnrs for some dis­tance app 200m. Then shifted to the out­side of rnr app 150m to ob­tain clear run­ning. 17e MAE­STRO TOM (NZ) 24/09/2017 Port Mac­quarie Over­raced dur­ing the early and mid­dle stages. Race 2: 1 SAN­TOS 30/09/2017 Royal Rand­wick Was ex­am­ined by the Club’s Vet­eri­nary Of­fi­cer after ar­riv­ing on course & passed fit to start after the colt had over­reached and sus­tained a mi­nor lac­er­a­tion its near-fore heel the day prior. Be­gan awk­wardly. Raced wide with­out cover for the ma­jor­ity of the event. Pos­trace vet exam rev colt ag­gra­vated a pre-ex­ist­ing in­jury to its near-fore heel. 2 SPIN 30/09/2017 Royal Rand­wick Near the 600m im­proved into a nar­row run to the inside of rnr. A short dis­tance later had to be stead­ied when crowded. 11 CORTESTA 30/09/2017 Royal Rand­wick Be­gan awk, shifted out & made con­tact with the hindquar­ter of rnr. Race 3: 1 REG­I­MEN 20/09/2017 War­wick Farm Slow to be­gin. Near 50m laid in and bumped with an­other run­ner. 2 ME­MENTO 20/09/2017 War­wick Farm COT - Op­tion to be rid­den fur­ther for­ward; set­tled out­side leader. Bumped on jump­ing. 5 YU­LONG XINGSHENG 27/09/2017 Rose­hill Gardens Slow to be­gin. 6 TORVILL 28/09/2017 Hawkes­bury Raced keenly in the early and mid­dle stages and got its head up pass­ing the 1200m when be­ing re­strained to find cover. Again got its head up when be­ing re­strained pass­ing the 800m. 7 WORKDRINKS 27/09/2017 Rose­hill Gardens Slow to be­gin. Near 1000m, was stead­ied avoid the heels. Ap­proach­ing and round­ing home turn had a ten­dency to lay in and then when un­der pres­sure the straight, raced greenly and shifted out un­der pres­sure. 9 TOUCH OF MINK 2/10/2017 War­wick Farm Slow to be­gin. Raced keenly in the early and mid­dle stages. 10 HIGH­WAY 23/09/2017 Kem­bla Grange Bumped at the start. Com­menced to race keenly in the mid­dle stages when pace slack­ened. Raced wide and with­out cover through­out. Race 4: 7 DARTS AWAY 29/09/2017 Moruya Crowded on jump­ing. Pass­ing the 900m was taken wider and was obliged to race wide for the re­main­der of the event. Laid in over fi­nal 150m. 8 PUMP­KIN PIE 30/09/2017 Royal Rand­wick For some dis­tance leav­ing the 700m raced in re­stricted room. 9 COGLIERE 27/09/2017 Rose­hill Gardens Slow to be­gin and then was stead­ied back in across run­ners shortly after the start. 11 SUNCRAZE 9/09/2017 Rose­hill Gardens Slow to be­gin. In­clined to lay in in the mid­dle stages and near the 700m be­came un­bal­anced when its rider cor­rected it to avoid mak­ing con­tact with the run­ning rail. Over the fi­nal 100m laid in un­der pres­sure. 12 GEN­TLE­MAN MAX 1/10/2017 Coota­mundra A pre­race vet­eri­nary ex­am­i­na­tion of the geld­ing, which kicked out in bar­ri­ers, found it suit­able to race. Rider stated his mount be­gan well and took up an ad­van­ta­geous po­si­tion in be­hind the lead. He added he was able to shift out near the 600m and had an un­in­ter­rupted run to the line but his mount found line only fairly and in his opin­ion did not ap­pre­ci­ate the firm track. In­clined to lay in in the straight and near the 100m rider was obliged to stop rid­ing and straighten. 8 OK­LA­HOMA GIRL 9/09/2017 Rose­hill Gardens From wide bar­rier stead­ied & shifted in be­hind rnrs shortly after start. Rdr std, after fol­low­ing an­other rnr round­ing h/t, elected to imp to its inside. After rid­ing mare along in early part of straight, com­menced make ground, in­con­ve­nienced & held up. Added when clear over lat­ter stgs mare fin­ished its race off well. Rep adv bled from one nos­tril on re­turn to stable & ad­vised would be req ei­ther trial or gal­lop 1000m prior to rac­ing again. Race 6: 1 LI­BRAN (IRE) 30/09/2017 Royal Rand­wick Slow to be­gin. For some dis­tance in the early part of the straight was in­clined to lay in, was re­luc­tant to pro­ceed into a nar­row run be­tween rnrs. 2 BIG DUKE (IRE) 30/09/2017 Royal Rand­wick COT - to be rid­den more fwd; set­tled worse than mid­field. Raced in re­stricted room shortly after the start. Stead­ied near the 2000m. 5 HAVANA COOLER (IRE) 30/09/2017 Royal Rand­wick After be­ing frac­tious in the bar­ri­ers was slow to be­gin. Post-race vet exam did not re­veal any abs. 8 DES­TINY’S KISS 30/09/2017 Royal Rand­wick Slow to be­gin. When be­ing stead­ied from heels near the 2000m, and had to be checked when crowded for room when rnr ran in. 10 DOUKHAN (IRE) 2/10/2017 War­wick Farm When qd re dis perf, rdr std that as was not con­tent with slow pace near 1200m, elected rather than be­ing awk on heels to shift out & take up lead near 1000m. Said trav rea­son­able for 200m, but then came un­der pres­sure & app 600m de­spite at­tempts, be­gan to weaken. Post race vets rev poor post-race rec. Trn ad­vised geld drop­ping back dist may not have suited by ad­vanc­ing at 1200m & in view is bet­ter suited when rid­den with cover. Trn since re­ported was sat­is­fied with post race cond of geld­ing. Race 7: 5 KURO (NZ) 30/09/2017 Royal Rand­wick On straight­en­ing shifted out and was stead­ied to avoid heels. 6 THE MONSTAR 30/09/2017 Royal Rand­wick Be­came frac­tious in the bar­rier, lunged for­ward & struck its head. Act­ing on vet­eri­nary ad­vice, geld­ing was a late with­drawal. 9 KAEPER­NICK 2/10/2017 War­wick Farm Slow to be­gin. Race 9: 2 SENSE OF OC­CA­SION 30/09/2017 Royal Rand­wick Rdr std geld trav­elled well in run, but when tempo in­creased from 700m mount be­came im­me­di­ately un­der pres­sure & from that point was one-paced to the fin­ish. Could of­fer no real ex­cuse for geld­ing’s dis­ap­point­ing per­for­mance. Post-race vet exam did not re­veal any abs. Trnr ad­vised had pleased lead­ing into race & un­der­took to re­port back on the progress of the geld­ing sub­se­quent to the race. 6 MCCREERY (GB) 30/09/2017 Royal Rand­wick After be­ing slow be­gin was crowded shortly after. 7 MACK­IN­TOSH (NZ) 30/09/2017 Royal Rand­wick When qst, rdr std mount trav­elled well out­side leader. Said when tempo in­creased app 600m mount com­menced to hang in. Added in straight be­came worse & was obliged to stop rid­ing in or­der to straighten mount & was un­able to ride us­ing nor­mal vigour. Post-race vet exam rev a poor post-race re­cov­ery & signs of thumps. Said was of the opin­ion geld was suf­fer­ing ef­fects of test­ing run. In­di­cated would ex­per­i­ment with Nor­ton bit & ear muffs. Race 10: 3 LATIN BOY 2/10/2017 War­wick Farm Near the 600m was stead­ied to avoid heels. 5 ARISE AUGUSTUS 27/09/2017 Rose­hill Gardens Near 900m had to be stead­ied to avoid heels. 6 OZARK 27/09/2017 Rose­hill Gardens Car­ried wider near the 900m. 9 GRAND CON­DOR 16/09/2017 New­cas­tle When qst re im­proved perf, trn std, geld was not suited at its prev start on 6 Aug 17 by get­ting too far out of its ground.
