T he son of Man­hat­tan Rain hasn’t been beaten more than 0.8 -lens i n fou r r u ns t h is ca mpa ig nclu­sive of a w i n at t is same t rack d is­tance as re­cent as t h ree sta r ts back.

“Tango Rain has been a con­sis­tent horse a l l of h is l i fe, he’s had eight sta r ts and on ly m issed a place once,” Ryan sa id. “He’s a good, honest on-speed horse.”

“It’s not a mas­sive negat ive but he has got good speed in­side h i m, the l ikes of Pomelo and Wa itand­watch, No­ble Joey too but Tango Rain is a qu ick horse so hopefu l ly he can over­come (t he w ide ba r r ier),” says Ryan.

“It ’s a posit ive for h i m com­ing back to 110 0m around here at Rosehi l l than 12 0 at Randw ick and he’s fresh­ened up n ice - ly si nce t he last r u n.”

Ryan sadd les-up the Moss­man two -yea r- old Tact ica l For­ma­tion in the ATC Lack Group — West T rad ies Plate (110 0m) two weeks a f ter h is de­but in the K irkham at Rand­wick where he faded to fi n ish w ith on ly one other beh ind h im.

“Dis­ap­point ing,” Ryan says of the r u n. “I ex­pected i m to r u n bet­ter. W het her it was (t he slow) t rack t hat went aga nst h i I don’t know. He had worked work wel l lead ing into the race but it was the fi rst t i me he’d seen a wet t rack and wh le h is ped ig ree sa id he wou ld hand it, t hat doesn’t a lways hap­pen.

“He worked ver y good on the g rass on T ues­day mor ning.”

“She is prob­a­bly just a bit be - low th­ese other ma res at th is stage but I just cou ld n’t fi nd t he r ight sor t of race for her. I thought be­ing on her home t rack, she’s on ly had t he one r ia l, we’l l go here,” Rya n sa id.

“She’s got no weight on her back (5 0kgs) and i f t hey overdo it up­front, she’l l h it he l i ne re - a l ly ha rd.”

“She has fresh­ened-up rea l ly wel l and had a jump out last week w it h T rapeze A r t ist a nd com­pany went rea l ly wel l. She looks ter r i fic, she’s long, and I th i nk she is goi ng to be ver y com­pet it ive.”

Trainer Ger­ald Ryan be­lieves Tango Rain can over­come a wide bar­rier at Rosehill to­mor­row.
