Per­former tipped to give Waller first Golden Slip­per

THE Chris Waller­trained Per­former is the $8 favourite in first mar­kets to give Syd­ney’s premier trainer his win in the $3.5 mil­lion Golden Slip­per.

Waller has only had a hand­ful of Slip­per run­ners and Per­former is one of the few he has had up run­ning early, win­ning Breed­ers’ Plate on the sea­son’s first day of two-year-old rac­ing in Syd­ney on Septem­ber 30.

is the most ex­pe­ri­enced of mar­ket lead­ers hav­ing raced three times for a sec­ond to Satin Slip­per in the Gim­crack Stakes on same day as the Breed­ers’ Plate.

She has since won the Inglis Ban­ner at Moonee Val­ley and most re­cently the Group 3 Emi­rates A380 Stakes at Flem­ing­ton on Novem­ber 7.

Satin Slip­per, also trained by the Snow­dens, is in a group on $26 for the 1200m-race March 24.
