Price colt’s Booming ahead of Pakenham

The Sportsman Weekend - - The Trackwork Winners - GEORGE LUCAS

THE Mick Price-trained galloper BOOM CHICKA BOOM has big wraps and should win again in Race 1 at Pakenham tomorrow.

The three-year-old created quite an impression at his second start winning in the manner of a horse going places, fast!

He’ll want to be beating these to justify pressing on with the rich three-year-old Magic Millions Classic.

His work on Tuesday morning was excellent, dashing up over 800m in 48.25 and 22.75 last 400m. .

Big drop in grade this time out for JE SUIS TYCOON, who has had a seven week freshen up. She worked 1000m, home 25.50 last 400m on the bit.

The Robert Smerdon trained BELLEGANO was scratched from Saturday’s Sandown meeting and resumes her prep in race 3 over 1200m at Moonee Valley tonight.

Her work has been very good this time in and she’s expected to run well fresh here. On Tuesday morning she came to Moonee Valley with Futurist and they galloped over 800m in 53.36 and 24.37 last 400m. Has a touch of class and looks set for a good prep.

Rival TAGREEDA worked nicely with EPIC MOMENT (Race 7 MV tonight) at Caulfield, dashing home last 400m in a slick time of 23.40.

There is not a lot of depth in race 4 over 1000m tonight at the Valley. ALASKAN SUN resumes her prep here and should get a good run in transit from barrier one.

The four-year-old mare had a poke around Moonee Valley on Tuesday morning with Misscino, they went 1000m in 1.05.02 and 25.61 last 400m. Monitor market moves closely. Either way, she should give you a run for your money.

Keep an eye out on the first starter SWEET DISTRACTION in the opening race tonight over 1000m for twoyear-old fillies.

This debutant by Snitzel, absolutely flogged her rivals a few weeks ago in trial at Caulfield over 650m, recording a time of 40.01.

On Tuesday she went 600m in 39.11 and 23.97 last 400m. Stable know how to churn out two-year-old winners, so watch the market closely.

Back at Caulfield tomorrow, race 2 — a fillies/mares Benchmark 87 over 1400m — looks the perfect race on paper for Henry Dwyer trained STORMSABREWING.

Rock hard fit and around the money of late, the five-year-old mare gets her chance here to break through for an overdue win.

She wasn’t knocked about on Tuesday morning, working over 1000m in 1.06 and 25.47 last 400m. Nice value each-way selection who can take this out if things go her way.

MINA HARKER worked with Ponte Roma (Race 6 MV tonight) over 800m, clocking 53.87 and 24.83 last 400m.

At this stage Stuart Webb will most likely back up GET THE PICTURE in race 3 at Pakenham.

The five-year-old gelding hit the line nicely last start after being held up momentarily in straight. Thriving work and racing as well as he was in his threeyear-old “classic” season. As fit can be for this assignment and rates on an each-way basis.

Mick Price.
