CAULFIELD

The Sportsman Weekend - - THE TRACKWORK WINNERS - GEORGE LUCAS

HOW can you possibly fault YULONG JANUARY on what we’ve seen to date?

It was a professional demolition last start up in Sydney and he warrants a crack at the listed Gothic Stakes (1400m) for three-year-old’s Caulfield tomorrow.

He wasn’t out to break records on Tuesday morning, working over 800m in 52.50 and home in 24.98 for his last 400m.

There’s no reason he can’t make it four on the trot.

BONS AWAY just missed out in a driving finish to the line last outing.

He is third-up here in the Group 2 Caulfield Sprint where I expect he will really make his presence felt once again.

Solid work on Tuesday morning has the son of Bon Hoffa nearing his peak for this.

He went 800m in 51.72 and home his last 400m in 24.04.

represents good each-way value.

Happy to forgive VISAO on his last start flop in Sydney.

He was ridden up on the pace and wide throughout and never a factor.

He will start over the odds in the Caulfield Classic, a traditional lead up to Derby, and must be kept safe.

He had a maintenance gallop over 1000m on Tuesday, clocking 1.07.44 before coming home in 23.50 for his last 400m split.

PRIZED ICON continues to race consistently and rates as an each-way hope in the Coongy Cup (2000m)

He turned in nice work here on Tuesday morning at “Breakfast with the Stars” where he strode over 1200m in 1.21.83 and coming home his final 400m in 23.53.

MAHAMEDEIS worked over 1000m 1.06.85 and clocked 24.76 for his last 400m.

He hit the line well start and I wouldn’t sell him short here

Caulfield Cup aspirant ACE HIGH partnered up with Mighty Boss over 1600m on the course proper on Tuesday morning.

It was an excellent gallop from the pair, recording a time of 1.54.01, with their last 1000m timed in 1.10.67 and final 400m in 23.90.

YOUNGSTAR teamed up with Finche over 1800m, clocking 2.13.52 and 24.59 for their last 400m.
