Zourkhan primed land a hat-trick

The Sportsman Weekend - - THE TRACKWORK WINNERS - JOHN MOC

ZOURKHAN has been in career best form winning his last two starts, the latest at Randwick on October 6 beating stablemate Abdon by a length and a quarter on a heavy 9 track.

He goes to Randwick tomorrow for the ATC La Boheme Pinot Noir Rose Handicap (1800m) and trainer Chris Waller has engaged Brenton Avdulla to ride the in-form Shamardal gelding.

His work on the Pro Ride last Saturday was good as usual when timed over 1000m in 1:10.20, with a final 400m in 24.70, was pleasing work.

Zourkhan should bring up a hat-trick at headquarters on the weekend where his trainer had four of the nine runners engaged.

SEXY EYES will appreciate the big drop in weight in

ATC Schweppes Handicap (1400m) at Royal Randwick tomorrow.

Her two runs this time in have resulted in two seconds with the latest one on the Kensington track October 17 when beaten a half-length.

She carried big weight on that occasion and was still making ground coming from seventh at the 400m.

The Written Tycoon mare is also engaged at Canterbury tonight.

She worked well in the onside grass on Tuesday morning running 1:8.10 for 1000m, with a final 400m in 24.50, working 5m out on a slow track. It was good work all up.

She can win either race for Chris Waller who is great at backing horses up and he will pick the right race to run in.

SAMBRO can win at Randwick in the ATC Robrick Lodge Filante Handicap (1400m) tomorrow for Chris Waller and Tommy Berry.

He has now had the two runs this preparation and was a winner third-up last preparation.

Sambro worked on the inside grass, 5m out, a slow track over 1000m Tuesday morning running 1:11.50 with a final 400m in a good 24.50 and it getting fitter with every gallop.

SAVACOOL and RAQEEQ are both trained by Chris Waller and will run in the ATC Cellarbrations Handicap (2000m) at Randwick tomorrow and have winning prospects.

Savacool is backing up after a good win on the Kensington track where Savabeel mare won by two lengths going away from stablemate MISS SHANTI won October 17.

Raqeeq, meanwhile, is very fit after eight runs this preparation, his latest a third to Cosmologist at Randwick on October 6 beaten two lengths on a Heavy 9 which does not suit the Champs Elyees five-year-old import.

He only worked slowly on Tuesday morning cantering two laps on the B Track but is a good worker when required.

CHARGE goes to Moonee Valley on either Friday or Saturday for Chris Waller and Hugh Bowman and has good winning prospects.

Charge will appreciate the drop in grade from a last start fifth on the Group 2 ATC Roman

Consul behind Sesar on October 6 on a Heavy 9 track at Randwick.

FAST TRAIN has a winning hope tonight at Canterbury for Gerald Ryan and Brenton Avdulla.

His last two gallops have been terrific, last Saturday he worked on the Pro Ride over 1200m in 1:21.59, his last 400m in 23.54.

Tuesday’s effort was good as well when working on the inside grass, reverse way, a slow track over 1200m 1:27.08 and slipping home a final 200m on 11.96. It was best of the morning effort. INVICTUS WARRIOR

can break his maiden status on Friday night at Canterbury in the ATC Jamberoo Park Action Plate (1900m) for Chris Waller stable where the Redoute’s Choice three-year-old colt has come up barrier one.

His recent trial behind stablemate Orcein beaten a half-length on October 3 at Warwick Farm was good.

This has been followed up with a good work out on the Pro Ride over 1000m in 1:10.30

final 400m 23.50.
