A moment in time travel

The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - Escape - - NEWS -

AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PANDEMIC, when we were reminded to do something we should’ve all been doing anyway – washing our hands thoroughly for 20 seconds with water and soap – there were hints and hacks galore to measure the time. Happy Birthday to You (twice round) was the crowd favourite.

This week, we’ve seen a spike in COVID-19 cases, so I’m using this space as a community service announcement to remind everyone to wash their hands, but this time use the 20 seconds to relive in your mind the 20 seconds of a perfect holiday moment.

My thoughts will be for the firsts: the first time I saw Uluru and a gorilla in Rwanda; the roar of the crowd at my first NBA game at Madison Square Garden; flying into Queenstown on my first trip to New Zealand (my iPad screensaver) and my first beach walk in the Maldives (my iPhone screensaver); the first time my kids had hotel room service (“what do you mean you call someone and they bring food to your room?” they asked); and the time I went to Harvey Nichols, on my very first morning in London, and saw Princess Diana trying on sunglasses.

Washing your hands has never been so fun!
