Mind games and dirty tactics
THE GOOD WIFE
WITH the firm in the grip of bankruptcy, Will and Diane are relying on the settlement of a big case to give them the much-needed financial boost to keep the practice afloat. And as usual, it’s up to Alicia to win it for them and save the day.
While you can see the end result from the get-go, what makes the episode so enthralling is how it all plays out. The case sees the firm suing a bank after several houses they foreclosed on were left uncared for, resulting in a mosquito outbreak in the pools, which led to a young girl becoming seriously ill.
Representing the bank boss in the legal fight is none other than Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox), which means Alicia (Julianna Margulies, pictured) must again go up against her old rival.
And what a war they wage. Dirty tactics and psychological games quickly ensue, leaving viewers captivated as they wait to see who will strike the next blow. It’s clever, intriguing and engaging without being so smart you can’t follow what’s going on.
