We first knew him as Sam on soapie Home And Away, now Ryan Clark has become known as the lovable ‘‘Whippet’’ on Ten’s Bondi Rescue. We caught up with the lifesaver to find out about his favourite things. ENTERTAINMENT Movie: My all time favourite would probably be Shawshank Redemption. Book: The Damage Done by Warren Fellows. TV show: At the moment, I’d say Bondi Vet – anything that shows off the Bondi way of life. Band or singer: Probably Pennywise. Reminds me of when I was a grommet growing up watching surf movies. Album: No Man’s Land by Kid Mac. Got a couple of my favourite songs on there right now. Karaoke song: Men At Work’s Land Down Under. Gadget: Phone. LIFESTYLE Holiday spot: Boat trip with the boys to the Mentawai Islands (pictured) off the western coast of Sumatra in Indonesia. Thing to do on the weekend: Surf, relax and hang out with my wife and mates. Place to go to relax: Bendalong on the NSW south coast. Hobby: Surfing. Sport to follow or play: I follow the Sydney Roosters in rugby league and to do sport I’d say surfing or skiing. Dinner conversation topics: Anything sport related. HOME Room in your house: My lounge room. It’s got everything I need. Place to hide from everyone: My top balcony sitting on my wind trainer. I’m sweating that much no-one wants to come near me. Art piece: My two photos from Brad Malyon at Frothers Gallery in Bronte, Sydney. Item you can’t live without: I’d say my wife but she’d say my phone. Luxury product: I’m a pretty simple guy but I do love my lounge. FOOD Meal of all time: Chicken parmigiana is my go-to meal at home or when I’m out. Dish to cook: I love cooking a big breakfast. I’m not that good in the kitchen to be honest, though. Family recipe: Don’t really have a family specialty. Ingredient: I like sauces – any type except chilli. Guilty pleasure: Ice cream. Unfortunately it gets me all the time. Bar: I don’t mind as long as I’m with good people. Restaurant: Chiswick in Woollahra, Sydney. The sliders and lamb are second to none. Cafe: Garden Cafe Deli in Waverley, NSW. The ladies who own it are legends and they do the best wraps in Sydney. STYLE Style icon: ( Bondi Rescue co-star) Greg Bishop. Fashion designer: Don’t really care who makes it as long as it looks good. Piece of clothing: At the moment it’s a hat I’ve got in my collection made by The Mad Hueys or my ski suit because I it means I’m on holiday. Shop: I hate shopping but my favourite shop would be anything with lots of Nike shoes and a big hat collection. Artist: Local kid from Bronte in Sydney called Caleb Reid. He does a lot of really different and cool stuff.
