CANBERRA CONFIDENTIAL

The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - TV Guide - - PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS -

Thursday, 8.30pm, ABC1

Annabel Crabb takes a break from dining with our federal politicians ( Kitchen Cabinet) to delve into Canberra’s seedy past ahead of the capital’s centenary this month.

It isn’t, she discovers, even in the 1930s, the world’s most boring city. Instead Crabb says there was always scandal, secrets and political skulduggery. Crabb is shown a suitcase full of pornographic photos and letters from a parliamentary secretary to a prostitute that refer to a Robert and a Harold. Crabb decides this is, of course, Robert Menzies and Harold Holt.
