Using footage captured over 12 months, the series explores various areas of the Arctic and how the wildlife survive.
The first episode looks at the long dark winters where the sun does not rise above the horizon for three months and how animals such as polar bears cope with the darkness. It then goes on to see how the area thaws out during the summer, resulting in an explosion of life that is both thrilling and captivating. Expect to see fascinating footage of the likes of whales, fish, birds, seals and polar bears.
