The 42-year-old used

car sales­man loves steak, potato and junk food and the poor diet has caused him to pile on

the weight. He now wants to shed the ki­los to be a good role model to his chil­dren and feel

at­trac­tive again.

2 JESS O’MAL­LEY (WITH DAD SAM)

With an up­com­ing wed­ding, the 21-year-old is try­ing to get in shape to be a good role model for fu­ture step­daugh­ter, Mahlia, and to feel bet­ter about her­self. She is sick of feel­ing ‘‘fat’’ and ‘‘lazy’’ and knows her

health is at risk if she con­tin­ues her diet of pork crack­ling and ice cream.

3 RICHARD ROACH (TEAMED WITH DAUGH­TER AM­BERROSE)

At 45, the mar­ried sales­man says he has been caught in a cy­cle of obe­sity within his fam­ily that has passed through the gen­er­a­tions. He wants to break that cy­cle and wants to start a new chap­ter of his life.

4 AM­BER-ROSE ROACH (WITH DAD RICHARD)

Fu­elled by an ad­dic­tion to junk food, the 20-year-old cin­ema wait­ress is in a bat­tle with obe­sity. She wants to lose weight, and dreams of run­ning around

with her nieces and neph­ews, wear­ing more

fash­ion­able clothes, gain­ing con­fi­dence and im­prov­ing her so­cial life.

5 ROSE­MARY REYNOLDS (TEAMED WITH SON KEVIN MOORE)

The 54-year-old’s main mo­ti­va­tion to join the

show was for her 27-year-old son, who is mor­bidly obese. She says she wants to see Kevin hap­pier. ‘‘I will do

ev­ery­thing I can to sup­port him’’. She also wants to be health­ier.
