Snark week in shoe biz

The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - TV Guide - - PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS -

DUKES OF MELROSE Thursday, 9pm, Arena

THIS is another show for all the fashion and reality TV tragics out there.

If you love the likes of The Rachel Zoe Project and It’s A Brad, Brad World, this will suit you more than a perfect-fitting pair of jeans.

It takes viewers inside Hollywood’s premiere vintage boutique, Decades. The store has become known for stocking the most extravagant and expensive vintage pieces from some of the world’s most influential designers. And just as famous as the designers the store stocks are the clientele it serves. Customers include everyone from A-list stars to top models and socialites all looking for their next red carpet outfit. The store is owned by the business-savvy Christos Garkinos and the flamboyant fashionista Cameron Silver, who are every bit as fascinating as their clients and clothes.

This week’s episode sees the shop throw their famed annual shoe sale with all shoes discounted to just US$150. It attracts a queue down the block, but Silver thinks it is cheap and tacky and tells customers as much. It’s awkward and nasty television and just the kind that fans of the Real Housewives franchise will adore, filled with snarky remarks and bitchiness.
